Hi,
My name is Shania Gordon.
I am a restorative wellness practitioner and I'm here to guide you through a meditation today.
This is a five-minute meditation for self-kindness.
I invite you to get comfortable whether that is seated,
Lying down,
Standing,
Whatever feels best for you.
Please always remember to take care of yourself if at any point you feel uncomfortable.
You can turn this off.
You can practice while still breathing and focusing on your breath or you can do whatever you feel you need to do.
You have that agency.
Now if you are ready,
I invite you to get comfortable.
Close your eyes or have a soft gaze.
I welcome you to take a deep breath in through your nose.
Hold it at the top for a moment and then exhale slowly through your mouth.
Let each breath bring you into the present moment.
Now place your hand over your heart.
Feel the warmth and connection.
With each breath,
Imagine sending love and compassion to yourself.
Think of a time when you were kind to someone else.
Reflect on how it felt to give that kindness.
Now return that kindness towards yourself.
Feel the same warmth and compassion directed at you.
I invite you to silently repeat to yourself,
I am worthy of love and compassion.
I forgive myself.
I am kind to myself.
Feel the truth of these affirmations with each breath.
Imagine a soft warm light in your heart.
With each breath,
See this light growing and spreading throughout your body,
Filling you from head to toe with love and compassion.
Take in a final deep,
Deep breath.
Holding on to the compassion and kindness you've cultivated.
Slowly exhale and bring your awareness back to the room.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Notice how you feel.
Remembering the feeling of being loved and nurtured because you are worthy.
