Hi,
My name is Shania Gordon.
I am a restorative wellness guide and today I am here to guide you through a meditation on the acceptance mindset.
I invite you to find a comfortable seated position lying down.
Maybe this can be a walking meditation for you.
I just invite you to do what you need to do for yourself.
If at any point during this practice you feel uncomfortable,
You feel unsafe,
You feel unsure,
I invite you to stop.
You can listen along.
You can turn it off.
Whatever it is that you need to do for yourself to feel safe,
I advocate you do so.
You have full agency to do anything you need to do during this time for you.
I invite you to begin by settling into a comfortable position.
Whatever that may look like for you.
If you are in a seated position,
I invite you to add some length into your spine,
Straightening it out.
Have your hands rested on your lap.
Or if you're lying down,
Maybe get some support under your knees with a pillow or something.
Wherever you land,
Begin to feel the support of the earth under you.
Maybe you close your eyes gently,
Creating a soft barrier between you and the outside world.
Or you just soften your gaze.
Whatever is needed.
I invite you to turn your attention to your breath.
Feel the natural rhythm of your inhales and your exhales.
There's no need to change anything.
Simply notice.
Each breath in brings freshness and energy.
Each breath out releases tension and unease.
Maybe you imagine a soft gentle breeze brushing against your face.
It's cool,
Refreshing,
And it sweeps across your body.
And as it does so,
It carries away any heaviness or strain.
Let it,
With every exhale,
Picture the breeze growing slightly stronger,
Taking with it any worries or concerns,
Leaving you feeling lighter.
I invite you to slowly scan through every part of your body,
Starting from the crown of your head.
Visualize this breeze moving over your forehead,
Down to your eyes,
Relaxing the tiny muscles there.
Your cheeks,
Your jaw,
Your neck,
All softening under this tender touch.
Maybe you can allow this feeling to cascade down over your shoulders,
Down your arms,
Chest,
Stomach,
Legs,
Right to the tip of your toes.
Every fiber of your being feels serene,
Supported,
And at peace.
Maybe we stay here a while,
Allowing your breath and this feeling of relaxation to merge,
Turning into a gentle rhythm that soothes your soul.
I now invite you to imagine a beautiful landscape stretching before you.
It's serene,
With rolling hills and a clear open sky.
This landscape represents your life.
Vast,
Open,
And filled with countless possibilities.
As you stand at the edge of this landscape,
Picture a path.
This is the path of your life.
It winds and turns,
Moving through valleys and over peaks.
Some sections of this path are bathed in sunlight,
While others are shaded,
Reflecting the various moments and experiences of your life.
Maybe we pause here to think about the nature of paths.
They don't resist the terrain,
They flow with it.
Even when they encounter rocky patches or steep climbs,
They adjust and move forward.
This adaptability is the heart of acceptance.
In life,
We often spend energy resisting our circumstances or wishing things were different.
But just like the path,
When we adopt an acceptance mindset,
We don't waste our energy fighting what is.
Instead,
We adapt,
We learn,
And we grow.
As you deepen your breath,
I invite you to bring to mind a particular challenge or situation you're currently facing.
Maybe you can see it as a bend in your path,
Perhaps a steep incline.
Instead of feeling blocked or deterred,
Imagine yourself navigating this section of the path with ease and grace.
How does it feel to approach it not as an obstacle,
But as part of your journey?
How does it feel to know that,
Like every section of the path,
This too will pass,
Leading you to new places and experiences?
Maybe we can deepen our understanding of acceptance by remembering that it isn't about resignation or passivity.
Instead,
It's about acknowledging the reality of the present moment and choosing to move forward with wisdom and clarity.
Maybe it's about understanding that resistance can be a heavy burden within itself,
But acceptance lightens the load.
Maybe you can invite yourself to dwell in this realization.
Breathe it in.
Every inhalation strengthens your acceptance mindset,
And every exhalation releases any lingering resistance or doubt.
You're aligning yourself with the natural flow of life.
Maybe you can feel the freedom that acceptance brings.
It grants you space to breathe,
To move,
And to live without unnecessary weights.
Maybe we begin to deepen our breathing here,
Inviting ourselves back into the awareness of where we are.
Maybe we can feel the ground beneath us.
Feel its solidity,
Its steadfast support.
Let it remind you that just as the earth holds you,
So can you hold your experiences with strength,
Grace,
And acceptance.
I invite you to wiggle your fingers and your toes,
Bringing a little movement back into the body.
Feel the rhythm of your heart,
The gentle ebb and flow of your breath,
Slowly allowing the sounds of your surroundings to filter back into your awareness,
Anchoring you back to the present moment.
And only when you are ready,
Without any rush,
You can open your eyes.
And as you do,
Take a moment to observe your surroundings,
Noticing any colors,
Textures,
Or sounds.
Recognize the beauty in this moment,
In the here and now.
Remember that every step,
Every turn,
Every challenge is an opportunity to grow,
Learn,
And shine even brighter.
The path to true peace lies not in changing the world around us,
But in changing the way we see it.
And until next time,
Sending my love.
