Let's take a moment to get in touch with what it's like to be here.
We can let this moment become an invitation.
To settle.
And to soften a little.
There's no need to change anything.
We're simply making space to be here.
As we are.
We can find whatever position feels comfortable right now.
Sitting.
Lying down.
However the body wants to be.
And we can let the eyes close or stay softly open.
Whatever feels right.
The muscles around the eyes can soften.
And that softness can spread into the face.
The jaw,
The shoulders,
And down through the arms.
We're not pushing anything away.
We're just allowing a little more ease.
Today we are exploring what it might be like.
Touch something soft.
With our hands.
And also with attention itself.
We can bring one hand to rest against the skin of the other arm.
Or the back of the hand.
We can let the touch be as soft as possible.
Slow.
.
.
Barely there.
Just noticing.
What that softness feels like.
The weight of the hand.
The warmth the texture of skin meeting skin.
Attention can be on this light,
Gentle contact.
And whatever it reveals.
If there's some fabric nearby.
Like a sleep.
A blanket.
Or whatever is close.
We can let the fingers touch that too.
And maybe even rest on it.
Softly.
Without needing to grip.
Or hold on.
Just touching and noticing.
What the texture feels like.
Its softness or roughness or warmth.
Moving the fingers slowly.
If that feels natural Noticing how the quality of touch changes what we notice.
We don't need to understand it.
We can simply savour it.
Gently.
And now.
We might bring a hand to rest against the heart.
Just resting there.
No pressure.
Feeling whatever is present.
Beneath that soft contact.
May be warmed.
Maybe movement.
Maybe stillness.
We're not trying to feel anything in particular.
We're just allowing the hand to rest.
Softly.
And noticing what's there to notice.
We might spend a few moments wondering.
What might it be like?
If attention itself could touch everything.
This softly.
If every thought Every sound.
Every feeling could be met.
The way we've just met this skin.
This fabric.
This heartbeat.
And now.
We can let awareness widen again.
And tune into the space around us.
The sounds that are here.
The way the body inhabits the space.
We can simply notice what's around us.
And let ourselves reconnect with the wider world.
When it feels right.
We can begin to move a little.
Maybe wiggling the fingers or the toes.
And if the eyes have been closed they can open in their own time.
Taking in the space around us as we move on with the day.
Perhaps we can carry this softness with us.
Touching whatever comes next.
A little more tenderly.
And from here we can continue.
In a gentler way.
