Let's notice the movement from whatever came before into this moment.
Whatever has been happening.
And gently.
And gradually.
Begin to move.
Into the background.
For the next few minutes.
We're simply here.
The body can find its preferred way of being.
Sitting upright.
Reclining.
Or lying down.
There is no right way.
We can trust.
That the body knows.
How it wants to be.
The eyes can be open.
Or closed.
If they are open they might soften their focus.
If they are closed.
The muscles around them can soften gently.
Perhaps the forehead softens.
The jaw.
The neck.
The shoulders.
And the rest of the body.
We don't need to force anything.
It's enough to let any softening happen.
On its own.
Today.
We are exploring the possibility.
Of letting what has passed be without needing to hold it here.
We might tune into.
How each moment can be taken as it comes.
And how earlier moments.
Weather from a few minutes ago.
Or further back.
Don't need to be carried.
Right now.
Moments can simply flow.
From one to the next.
And we can just be here.
As experience moves on its own.
Sometimes the mind drifts.
Back to what has already happened.
A thought about earlier moments.
An inner conversation that repeats.
If this happens,
We can let those thoughts flow through us.
We don't need to hold on to them.
We don't need to push them away.
We can meet this moment.
Just as it comes.
We don't need to carry the past with us right now.
We might gently wander.
What is it like?
To let thoughts move.
Without holding on to them.
Sometimes.
We carry tension from earlier in our bodies.
Is there that kind of tension there right now?
Perhaps there is something in the shoulders.
The jaw or the forehead.
And if there is Might a gentle release be possible?
Without trying to force a change.
If something is easing.
We can let it go.
And if nothing wants to change,
That's okay too.
For a little while,
We can rest with this.
Thoughts can move through.
The body can soften.
In its own way.
And this moment.
Doesn't need to carry what came before.
And now we can begin to widen awareness again.
Noticing the sounds around us the sense of space.
The body resting on what supports it.
When it feels right.
The fingers or the toes might wiggle a little.
Maybe a deeper breath.
Happens naturally.
And if the eyes have been closed.
They can open.
Slowly.
In their own time.
And take in what's around.
We can carry this small understanding with us.
Not everything that has passed needs to be carried forward.
Some things can be allowed to move through.
And from here.
We can continue.
In a gentler way.
