Having trouble falling asleep? This guided meditation will help you set your stress, responsibilities, worries, and problems aside so you can relax and fall asleep easier. Toward the end of the spoken word this guided meditation gives you something to focus on as your mind quiets down for the evening. The last spoken words before the music play for a while are: “Allow yourself to fall asleep.” The spoken word is about 5 minutes of this 10-minute meditation.

As you begin to get comfortable and ready to drift to sleep,

Gently close your eyes.

Take a deep breath.

And slowly exhale.

Another deep breath.

And slowly exhale.

Take a final deep breath.

And slowly exhale.

Feel your body beginning to relax.

Feel your body getting more and more comfortable as you lie on your bed.

Imagine there is a beautifully decorated box beside your bed.

Slowly open the lid of this beautifully decorated box.

Begin to fill this box with all of your worries,

Responsibilities,

Stresses,

And your problems.

You don't need them right now as you prepare to go to sleep.

If you need them in the morning,

They will be there for you to gather again.

And now that those are all in the box,

Gently close the lid of this beautifully decorated box,

Making sure it is closed securely and tightly.

Push the box gently away from you even further.

Take a deep breath.

And slowly exhale.

You are deserving of allowing your body,

Mind,

And spirit time to replenish as you are asleep.

You are worthy of sleep.

Allow yourself to relax even more.

Now until you drift off to sleep.

Allow your mind to gently think of all the different flowers you can think of.

As you think of these flowers,

You keep getting more and more relaxed and ready to drift off to sleep.

Allow yourself to fall asleep.

Take a deep breath.

You you you you you you you you you
