This is Sacred Soul Sips,
A place to savor the truth of who we are,
One divine sip at a time.
These sips are short but potent,
Five to ten minutes of wisdom medicine,
Enough to carry you through a moment,
A day,
Or maybe even a lifetime.
My intention is simple,
And that is to remind you that you are already whole,
Already light,
Already here in the fullness and the unfolding of your divine life.
Today's sip is the courage to be who you are,
To be who you know you are,
Even when all you've ever been is who you're not,
Takes radical courage.
This sip is a fiery celebration of those who dare to step into their true selves.
So sit back,
Breathe softness into your heart,
And take this sip,
This sacred invitation to pause.
Pause,
Receive,
Savor,
And be nourished.
It takes great courage to be who you know you are,
When all you've ever been is who you're not.
Let me repeat that.
It takes great courage to be who you know you are,
When all you've ever been is who you're not.
This came to me recently as I sat with myself on what I'm calling my Sovereign Self Expression Journey,
Truly allowing myself to be who I am,
The fullness of all that I am.
And I've never really done that.
I've held roles,
Titles,
Positions,
But in each one I felt masked.
It wasn't fully me,
Not the real me.
So my inner child,
She peeked out,
Hesitant,
Like a little girl afraid of the light.
And I saw her,
And I held my hand out and asked why she was scared to show herself.
And she said to me,
I've only ever known to be who I'm not.
And ooh,
That pierced me,
Because isn't that the truth for so many of us?
We spend years performing,
Pretending,
Shrinking,
Hiding,
Being who we're not.
Maybe I should say acting like someone we're not.
And all the while,
Something inside whispers,
This doesn't feel good.
This isn't me.
And maybe you felt it too,
That nervousness in your belly,
That quiet voice that says,
Mm-mm,
Walk away.
That little tug that says,
This is not who you are.
And yet we stay.
Sometimes because we have no choice,
But sometimes and often we do have a choice.
But we keep wearing those masks,
Because it's all we've ever known.
And so here's the truth.
To step into who you really are,
To finally be who you've always known yourself to be,
That takes courage.
It takes radical,
Soul-deep courage.
And if you're doing that right now,
If you are beginning to shed the mask and stand bare in your own truth,
I want to applaud you.
I want to celebrate you,
Because I know how hard that is.
And I also know firsthand just how worth it it will be.
So I invite you now to place your hand over your heart and whisper to yourself,
Softly,
I am who I am.
I am enough as I am.
And I have the courage to be who I am.
Take a deep breath in,
Filling your belly with strength and courage.
And exhale with a sigh,
Releasing the old mask,
The old stories,
The old lies.
Yep,
They're lies.
One more time,
One more breath in,
Inhale courage.
And exhale the truth.
This is your sacred soul sip for today.
Courage.
May you drink it deeply.
May it strengthen you as you step fully into your divine and beautiful self.
Sip on this truth and let it carry you through.
