This is a Lefay of Sylvanosity with a winding down exercise to help you relax and unwind from your day.
To start with,
Imagine your day like a cinnamon roll.
Slowly unwind.
Launch the outer edge with your fingers and pull,
One turn at a time.
Consider the dough and the cinnamon and the sweetness as returning all the energy you lost today back into yourself.
Take in the sweet,
Spicy,
Savory scent.
Let it settle into your muscles.
Move around a little.
Let yourself feel the flow.
Remember the taste of your favorite sweet.
Perhaps it is a cinnamon roll,
Or butterscotch,
Or caramel,
Or hot chocolate.
Whatever the taste,
It's something you supremely enjoy.
It settles into your tongue,
Seeps into your memories,
And allows you to sigh.
Breathe out and pleasurably relax into yourself.
Because now is a time to unwind,
To let go.
Wouldn't it be nice if all the sticky stuff from a cinnamon roll would just turn to fairy dust as you rubbed your fingertips together?
What would be even more wonderful and luxurious is if the worries of your day,
The stresses of your day,
The difficulties were just as easy to let go of,
Like so much pixie dust,
Just by rubbing your fingertips together.
Give it a try.
Rub your fingertips with both hands,
Then spread your fingers wide.
Raise them over your head if you can,
And let them go,
Stretch into the release of it.
Let go your worries.
Let go your cares.
Let go your concerns.
You let them fly away as so many illuminated dust motes,
Like little bits of stardust floating off and far away from you.
Now let's center ourselves in our chair or in our bed or whatever favorite cozy,
Comfortable place you have settled into.
Take a few more deep cleansing breaths.
Roll your neck forward to the side,
To the back,
And around again.
Roll your shoulders back.
Open your chest.
Allow yourself to feel centered and relaxed.
If there's a place of tension in your body,
Focus on it for a moment.
Imagine it opening like a flower,
Releasing the fragrance of stress and letting it out into the air.
Opening,
Releasing.
Opening,
Releasing.
In this moment,
You have no worries.
In this moment,
You have no cares.
You've let go of them all.
You are comfortable,
Calm,
Safe.
Think of the things that make you feel that way.
Think of the things that comfort you.
May it be a sound,
Perhaps rain,
Water rolling to shore,
Or sleuthing around a rock.
Maybe there are other sounds you can conjure up in your mind that make you feel comforted.
Release those tensions with a deep breath.
Perhaps there's a new place in your body that's gotten a little stiff or tight.
Open the flower,
Release the fragrance,
Let that tension go.
If there's a warrior or two that's lingering in the back of your mind,
Think back to that smell you love.
Rub your fingers together.
Allow the cinnamony sweetness of that sweet wall to let go and float away like so much illuminated pixie dust.
It's with you no more.
You're letting it go.
Deep cleansing breath.
Settling into that which comforts you.
Perhaps it's a poem you've memorized.
You can recite it to yourself now.
Maybe it's a song you heard as a young person.
And every time you hear it,
You feel loved,
Comforted,
Understood.
Whatever makes you feel that way,
Bring back the memory that brings you into that feeling,
Into that moment.
And dwell there.
Deep breath.
Let your muscles relax.
Let your thoughts thin.
Let your worries float away.
Focus on comfort.
Focus on care.
Focus on connectedness.
For right now,
Don't let the world in.
Just allow the things that comfort you and connect you to be what you focus on.
If you feel a bit of tension,
Imagine it as a flower.
Let the petals open.
Release the fragrance of stress and let it float away.
Nothing here but you and your comforts.
Nothing here but you and your breath.
As our meditation comes to a close,
Bring yourself to the place that gives you the most comfort in your mind.
Build this place with details,
Things you would bring into this place to give you more comfort,
More relaxation,
Things that allow you to let go of your worries and your cares.
So that you can picture this place every time you return to this moment.
And I invite you to return to this moment daily to give yourself the release and recuperation you deserve.
Thank you for joining me.
This has been a le fe of Sylvanosity.
Let your worries unwind.
Return to the day when you're ready.
If you need to,
Replay this meditation.
But for now,
This is Elle Fe,
Signing off.
See you soon.
