This is Sydney welcoming you to Permission to Be Creative,
Day 2 of the 10-Day Series Unlock Your Full Creative Potential.
You do not need a pen for today's exercise,
But some people find it helpful to write down their ideas or what they're feeling once the visualizations are over.
What is your goal for unlocking your full creative potential?
Perhaps you'd like to become a writer,
A sculptor,
A dancer,
Or a graphic artist.
In this session,
You will embrace your creative passions by acknowledging your dreams and giving yourself permission to follow them.
As we did with Day 1,
Let's get into the meditation space with three big belly deep breaths.
Start with in and out.
In and out.
Last time,
In and out.
And also as we did with Day 1,
Let's do a body scan now.
So wherever you are,
I invite you to close your eyes or to drop your lids.
Get comfortable as you lay down,
Sit down,
Or stand up.
Whatever makes you feel good.
And let's start with our feet this time.
Just imagine your feet being totally relaxed and full of creative energy.
From your toes to your ankles.
Feel that relaxing creative energy moving into your calves and around to your shins.
Feel that energy in your knees,
The front and back.
And now that creative and relaxing energy moves to your thighs,
To the front,
Around the sides,
To the back.
And pull that energy into your pelvis,
Your hips,
And your bottom.
Now you're feeling really relaxed in your belly,
Your sides,
And your lower back.
Draw that creative energy into your upper back,
Around under your arms,
To your chest area.
And now your shoulders.
Bring that relaxing energy into your shoulders,
The front,
The back,
Around your collarbone,
Too.
Feel your arms down to your elbows with that relaxation and creativity.
Let's continue with the lower arms down through our wrists and down to our hands and to our fingers.
Our necks are ready for that same energy.
Now breathe it into the back of your heads.
Breathe it into your face and your ears.
Now the top of your head is feeling relaxed and creative.
Now keep it right there in that relaxed state and visualize a tree of creativity.
At the very top of the tree with the branches,
There's leaves or flowers.
Those represent the products of your creative works.
They represent the paintings or the dances,
The books,
Or the designs.
See a tree and see it covered and blooming with your creative output.
Now let's travel down the trunk of that tree.
The trunk is your tool,
Your device.
How are you creating your work?
Do you use your body,
A computer,
Paper,
Pen,
Paint?
Now as you move along the trunk that is supporting all of your beautiful creative endeavors,
Smooth down in the ground to the real support,
The roots.
That's you and your mind and your spirit and your soul where the creative juices live.
Just imagine yourself as those roots pulling in all the nutrients.
All the creative forces of the universe.
Now that you have your works,
Your tools,
Your inspiration,
You have the complete picture,
Step back.
Give yourself permission to look at this beautiful tree connected to source energy in the ground.
Give yourself permission to love what you see because our next step is giving yourself permission to be an artist.
Whether it's how you make a living or how you enjoy yourself in your free time,
Give yourself permission to explore all of that.
Give yourself permission to feel the trunk of that tree,
To feel and hug the trunk,
To pull down a leaf and inspect it and love it.
Give yourself permission to think of yourself as a creative being.
Give yourself permission to explore what being creative means to you.
What is a creative life?
How can you live it?
What does that look like?
What does that feel like?
Give yourself permission to really feel what it feels like to live,
Breathe and produce creative work.
We'll take a moment here.
How do you feel?
Parts of you are excited about creating,
Making something.
When you pass a mirror today,
Stop,
Take a look at yourself and give yourself permission.
Say something like,
I give myself permission to make XYZ or to be XYZ.
Don't worry about the naysayers.
Don't worry about the doubts in your head.
Just for the moment and then just for the day,
Give yourself permission to feel like a creative person.
I give you permission to be creative.
Now it's time to wrap up with our affirmation.
I am bold,
Brave and kind.
Happy,
Healthy and wealthy.
Beautiful and brilliant.
And I am loved.
Let's close out the meditation with one big deep belly breath in and out.
Thank you so much for joining me for day two,
Permission to be creative.
We're looking forward to day three where we'll dive into clearing fear.
For now,
I'm Sydney.
Keep creating.
