Hello,

This is Sydney.

Welcome to Clearing Fear,

The third part of the 10-part series,

Unlock Your Full Creative Potential.

Feeling not good enough or worrying about being a starving artist are two of the many reasons that creative types fear pursuing their artistic dreams.

While the reasons are always illusions,

The feelings of fear are all too real.

In this session,

Learn how to clear away the fears that are blocking your creative momentum.

Let's get into the meditative space with three belly deep breaths.

Ready?

Breathe in.

And out.

Breathe in.

And out.

Last time,

In.

And out.

Now let's go a little deeper into relaxation with a body scan.

Starting at the top of your head,

Just breathe into your crown.

Breathe into your face,

Your ears,

And the back of your head.

Breathe down into your neck,

Into your shoulders.

Now feel that relaxing energy all around the tops of your arms down to your elbow.

And as you breathe,

That energy moves down to your wrists.

Breathe into your hands and your fingers.

Now breathe into your chest and breast area.

Feel the energy moving down your back,

All the way down your back.

And into your belly.

Now let's feel the relaxation in our pelvis and our bottom.

We are now breathing into the front of our thighs,

Down the back of our thighs,

And feel that energy around your knees.

Let's move down to the calves and to the shins.

Breathe that relaxing energy into your ankles,

Into your feet,

And finally into your toes.

For today's meditation exercise,

We're going to breathe through some of the fears that we have in terms of creating,

Sharing,

Or finishing our artwork.

Sometimes there's layers to the fears and just naming one part of the fear will work for this exercise in terms of clearing away all of the fear.

So for example,

You may have a fear of submitting your work or sharing your work.

And if you go a little deeper,

That fear is based on the fear of being criticized.

You pull back that layer and there's a fear that people will not think you're good enough.

And under that,

You might not think you're good enough.

And if you pull back that last layer,

You're left with feeling unworthy.

So let's take a part of that.

I don't feel good enough.

I fear I'm not good enough.

We're going to take a deep breath in and really think about that.

And then on the exhale,

Blow those words and that feeling out into the universe,

Just clear it away from you as far as it can go.

So let's breathe in and think about not feeling good enough.

Really blow it out forcefully.

Let's try that one more time.

I fear that I'm not good enough.

Take a deep breath in.

Clear that thought away from you with a hard breath.

Take a moment here to think of another fear you might have.

If you want,

You can even pause here and write down some of the fears that you experience around your artwork or your creative endeavors.

Now pick one fear or one level to the fear and this time we're going to slash through it.

Think of that fear,

See it somehow,

Even a word that represents it or some image that represents the fear.

And imagine you're a samurai with a sword.

Just slash through that fear and it dissipates just like that.

If you wrote a list,

You can even take your pen and slash through it with ink.

It's destroyed,

It can't come back.

Take a moment here,

Focus on a fear,

Slash through it.

You've just experienced two ways to clear fear.

You can use these techniques,

Whichever one works best for you,

As you go through your everyday life or you work on your creative vision.

But I don't want to leave you here in a place of fear.

Once you've cleared away the fears,

It's time to return to a place of safety.

So breathe in something that makes you feel good,

A name of someone you love.

You can breathe in a smell,

Breathe in an experience that made you happy.

But take a moment here to return to a place of good feeling,

Safety or fun.

We're going to stay with the breathing as we close out this meditation space.

Again with three breaths in and out.

Ready?

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

In.

Out.

Last one in.

Last one out.

Nice.

As always,

We'll end with affirmation time.

Feel free to repeat after me in your head or out loud.

I am bold,

Brave and kind.

Happy,

Healthy and wealthy.

Beautiful and brilliant.

And I am loved.

Thank you so much for joining me for clearing fear and stay tuned for session four,

Transitioning into creativity.

Until then,

Keep creating.
