In this lesson, you will learn the art of self-congratulations and develop your unique roadmap to find your inner feel-good space from which to launch your creativity.

Hello,

My name is Sydney and welcome to Unlock Your Full Creative Potential.

This is a 10-day meditation series designed to help you harness your creative power,

To begin artistic works for the first time,

Or to find the inspiration to continue works already in progress.

In each session I will provide an intro and a mix of visualizations,

Meditations,

Activities and exercises that can be done with or without paper.

These are specifically designed to bring down the walls of fear and stagnation and offer a fun and exciting way to achieve artistic dreams or simply live a more artistic life.

I will offer examples but you're encouraged to use your own creative practices,

Habits and philosophies that work for you.

So let's get started with Day 1,

Celebrating You.

It's hard to think creatively or craft a work of interest and beauty if you don't see yourself worthy of doing so.

So let's start by celebrating you and all that you do.

Today you'll learn the art of self-congratulations and develop your unique roadmap to find your inner feel-good space from which to launch your creativity.

But first let's settle down and get into the meditative space.

Wherever you are,

Just relax.

Whether or not you're laying down,

Sitting or even standing,

Close your eyes or make them soft and let's take three big belly deep breaths.

Let's start with taking a breath in and out.

In and out.

Next time in and out.

Let's do a body scan starting at the top of your head.

Just imagine your head being relaxed,

Relaxing energy flowing into your head.

Now move that energy into your face.

Look past your ears to the back of your head.

Breathe in that relaxing energy into your neck and shoulders.

Feel that relaxing energy coursing through your arms down to your elbows.

And from your elbows down to your wrists,

Hands and fingers.

Just breathe in relaxing energy into the chest and breasts and stomach.

Feel that wonderful relaxing energy on your sides as it moves to your back,

Your upper back down to your lower back.

Feel that energy relaxing your bottom,

Your hips and your pelvis.

Feel your thighs,

The front sides and backs relax.

Now that relaxing energy is traveling to your knees,

Front and back.

Down your shins and down your calves.

Now feel your ankles and your feet relax down to your toes.

Stay in this space of relaxation and visualize yourself doing some of the creative things that you want to do or that you love to do.

Perhaps you love writing or dancing or you're working on a picture or a poem.

Perhaps you like working in your garden.

Don't worry about the specific creative activity.

Just pick one that feels good in this space and see yourself doing that.

Take some time to feel yourself doing that.

Feel what it feels like in your body.

What are you thinking as you do this creative activity?

How does your soul feel?

Take a moment and silently feel yourself doing this activity.

Wonderful.

Stay in this space and slowly raise your hand to give yourself a pat on your shoulder or a pat on the back.

Congratulate yourself for starting this journey,

This 10 day series to unlock your full creative potential.

And as we move to the exercise portion,

You can do this right where you are,

Right as you are,

Or if you'd like to pause and get a pen and paper,

You can do that too.

Make a list of things that you've actually done creatively or that you're doing.

And if you just can't think of anything,

Make a list of things that you'll do,

That you plan to do,

That make you feel good.

If you're looking forward to an acting class,

Write that down and what part of it makes you feel good.

Is it acting in that collaborative space?

If you're doing pottery,

Have you completed a piece that you feel good about?

Try to come up with three to five things that you've done,

That you're doing or that you will do that make you feel good.

Now again,

Congratulate yourself for getting those things done or for planning on doing those things.

Give yourself a hooray for me or a pat on the back.

Somebody's got a chair for you.

Why not let it be you?

And I'm here to tell you you're doing a wonderful job.

In fact,

Let's congratulate ourselves a little bit more.

I want you to think of some things that you've done in the last 24 hours that you can congratulate yourself for.

It doesn't matter how small or how insignificant you think it is.

The point here is to get in the habit of congratulating ourselves,

To work that muscle.

For example,

You woke up today,

Congratulate yourself for that.

And you started this meditation series,

You deserve a pat on the back for that one too.

Take a few seconds to congratulate yourself for a few things you've done in the last day or so.

Hey,

Look at you.

Congratulations for congratulating yourself.

So in that spirit,

Let's work on an affirmation that we'll repeat throughout the series.

I am bold,

Brave and kind.

Happy,

Healthy and wealthy.

Beautiful and brilliant.

And I am loved.

Congratulations,

You've finished day one.

Let's take one last belly deep breath to exit the meditation space.

Breathe in and breathe out.

Next,

Is day two and we'll look at ways that you can give yourself permission to be creative.

In the meantime,

Keep creating.
