Welcome.
I'm Suzanne and this is a practice to approach writing from an embodied state of calm so you can write with ease.
So many of us believe the story that writing is hard or writing is frustrating.
In the past we may have had a disempowering experience with the teacher or editor that put limits on our writing.
Sometimes we put limits on ourselves.
When we approach writing believing the story that writing is hard,
It feels like a difficult slog but it doesn't have to be.
To write with ease we write a new story from the present.
In this story we write from calm,
Satisfaction,
And the spirit of discovery.
Begin by sitting in the place where you write.
Close your eyes and slowly breathe in and out.
When we're tense about writing our breath can be shallow.
Consciously deepen your breaths,
Breathing in longer and breathing out longer.
Breathing this way can deepen what you write.
As you breathe notice your body.
Notice when you are in your body and when you're in your head.
Be in your body.
Can you feel the floor beneath your feet?
Feeling your feet on the floor grounds your writing practice.
Honor the steadiness of the floor beneath your feet.
Now deepen your breathing again by raising your shoulders up then letting them go.
Raise your shoulders again and let all the tension drop out of them.
Notice if there's tension in your neck by gently moving your head side to side and up and down.
Relax your neck.
Notice if there's tension in your wrists and hands by gently rotating your wrists one way and then the other.
Then shake your hands out and place them on your knees in a way that feels relaxed.
Keep breathing and release all tension in your body.
Keep breathing and lengthen your spine to sit tall in your power.
Now let's gather creative energy to fuel your writing practice.
Keep your eyes closed and rub your hands together.
Feel the warmth of energy in your hands.
Breathe in and place the warm energy of your hands over your closed eyes.
You may see a color or sense of feeling behind your eyes.
You may sense a new feeling of calm.
Breathe into the warmth,
Color and sensation.
Finally,
Keep your eyes closed and place your fingers on the midpoint of your forehead just above the bridge of your nose.
Press your fingers gently there to activate your intuition.
Notice what your intuition has to say in feeling,
Not in words.
Take a deep breath in and breathe out deeply.
Breathe in and out and notice what your heart has to say in feeling.
Breathe in and out and notice what words are emerging from your throat,
Ready to be voiced on the page.
Breathe in and out and notice the words you hear in your ears.
Notice what your whole body wants to say on the page.
Know that you can write what's in your body,
Spirit and mind with ease when your body is relaxed and your mind is open.
May you write with ease,
Clarity,
Courage and enjoy the process.
May you share your inner wisdom as you write.
May you practice patience and allow the words to merge with abundance in their own time.
May the words and ideas flow fueled by the energy of your breath and the expansive power of creation.
May you know that the words you share have power and your voice matters.
Now open your eyes and go directly to the page to write.
