Welcome.

In this practice we'll call on the deep creative wisdom of our hearts and souls to re-inspire and reignite your writing from within.

Writing can feel challenging and frustrating at times and when it's hard the impulse can be to either push forward or give up.

But pushing hard doesn't always result in our best writing and the world needs our voices so giving up is not what the universe wants.

Your higher self already knows that.

Your higher self or creative spirit just needs some encouragement and compassion.

In fact researchers like Kristen Neff have shown that compassion is far more motivating than negative self-talk.

And I'll add from experience that an openness to going deeper within writing really fuels it.

Sometimes all the words are waiting for you behind a locked door in your heart.

It takes going within to find the key.

Let's bring willingness to this practice and see what happens.

Feel free to invite your playful inner child to join in.

By accessing your imagination you'll go even deeper into the exploration.

To begin look around you.

Notice three shapes,

Colors,

Or objects you appreciate.

Now close or soften your eyes and go within.

We'll begin with three creative energy breaths.

Breathe in through your nose and imagine you're pulling the air up from the base of your spine into your throat and all the way up through the top of your head.

Then breathe out from the top of your head all the way down to your root.

Again breathe in from your root all the way up to your crown.

Breathe out all the way down to your root.

Once more breathe in from your root all the way up to your crown and breathe out all the way down to your root.

Now with your eyes still closed or softened imagine you're sitting in a comfortable easy chair in the middle of a beautiful library.

You can smell the leather,

Paper,

And glue of books and the deep wood smells of the bookshelves.

The light from hundreds of little lamps is warm and soothing.

You feel comfortable and at home here in this lovely library.

Everywhere you look are rows and rows of gorgeous books and if you get very quiet and still you can hear them talking to you.

The books are inviting you to join their conversation.

This library holds a vital creative and energetic conversation between writers through time,

Geography,

And circumstance.

Inside the books are stories and essays,

Poems and plays.

All forms of writing are welcome and the books want you to know that the words matter and your words matter.

Listen closely to what the books are telling you.

Repeat their words after me silently or out loud.

I belong in this vast conversation.

I belong in this vast conversation.

My words have value.

My words have value.

My experiences are stories written on my heart.

My experiences are stories written on my heart.

My heart has stories to share.

My heart has stories to share.

When I write from my heart and soul my words are louder.

When I write from my heart and soul my words are louder.

When I write from my heart and soul my words can be heard.

When I write from my heart and soul my words can be heard.

The world needs my voice now more than ever.

The world needs my voice now more than ever.

I write to share wisdom from my heart and soul.

I write to share wisdom from my heart and soul.

When I write I connect with the creative pulse of the universe.

When I write I connect with the creative pulse of the universe.

Thank you.

Now go directly to the page to write from your heart and soul knowing you are a part of the vast conversation.

The beautiful Universal Library is waiting for you to share your words.

Your voice matters.
