Now what the blazes is going on with this yawning and tapping thing.
So maybe every time you tap you start to yawn like you're trying to have this nice calm relaxing moment and all of a sudden you're just yawning all over the place.
So let's talk about what that actually means and why it's a good thing.
I'm Susanna and in this video we're going to dive into one of the most common effects or reactions that people have during tapping which is also kind of adorable as well.
And that is the yawns okay so if you've ever been tapping and all of a sudden you start yawning you might be thinking to yourself like why why am I yawning like why do I keep yawning during tapping am I doing something wrong am I doing something right is my body trying to tell me something do I need a little nap If you've ever thought those questions to yourself,
Don't worry because I'm going to explain exactly what those yawns mean,
Why they happen and how they're actually a sign that your body is doing something amazing and something is shifting within you.
All right,
So let's break it down a little bit.
So when you do your tapping session,
You're not just randomly repeating affirmations and kind of poking yourself in the face for fun.
What we're doing through tapping is we're actually stimulating meridian points,
Acupressure points on the face and upper body and these are known to calm the nervous system,
To reduce cortisol and obviously we're changing our state through what we're saying and what we're doing.
And when we change our state,
When we start to relax,
What happens to our bodies when we start to relax,
Right?
We let out a little yawn,
We might do a little sigh,
We might have a little stretch.
And in some cases during tapping,
People sometimes find that they do a little burp as well,
Okay?
So,
Yawning or burping is your body's way of kind of saying to yourself like,
Okay,
Like we're changing our state,
We're letting go of something now.
So it's a sign that your fight or flight,
The fight or flight part of your nervous system is beginning to power down and your rest and digest system is kicking in.
So we're changing from fight or flight to rest and digest.
You might notice when you go into that state,
You might find yourself sighing a bit more or you might have an urge to stretch.
You might want to swallow.
You might also get an emotional release through tears.
And these are all signs that energy is shifting,
Like things are moving and you're not stuck.
Anymore and your body is catching up with that.
So no you're not doing it wrong if you're yawning when you're tapping you're not bored hopefully you're not tired well maybe you are but that's not what the yawning is about necessarily it's your body actually saying to you like yes this this is working like let's clear out some of that old stress okay it's that energy shifting it's it's a reaction and it's a really good reaction so honestly like even when i tap now i still yawn a lot especially on some of the big emotional stuff that I'm tapping on and every night I do a tapping before bed and the minute almost that I start tapping I yawn and it's like my body knows that's my signal to wind down so within a few taps there I am yawning.
So every time you yawn all you need to do is just think to yourself like There it is,
Like it's a sign,
I'm releasing,
I'm resetting,
It's working.
So if you are yawning during your tapping sessions,
Celebrate it.
It's okay.
You're shifting something.
You're healing and you're making space for something better.
