There.
So maybe you found your way here today because the fear of death like your own mortality is feeling pretty all-consuming and overwhelming.
If that's the case then I invite you to join me for this really gentle and supportive tapping session where we're going to give voice to that fear,
We're really going to honour its presence and hopefully find a little bit of lightness and space around it as well.
Now before we begin,
Just a really gentle reminder that if this fear is really kind of taking over your life,
It's interfering with your day-to-day thoughts and happiness,
Know that support is available.
You know,
Sometimes when you have this deep fear of death,
It's linked to something that's happened in the past.
So it might be a deeper anxiety,
It could be a past trauma,
Maybe even kind of questions around spirituality as well.
So seeing a counsellor or therapist can be quite helpful.
That said EFT is a really gentle way to just explore these feelings with kindness.
So begin by making yourself nice and comfortable and we're going to start with a nice deep breath in through the nose.
As we ground into this space.
And then letting go on the exhale.
And as we tap today,
I just want to remind you,
You know,
You are in charge of your well-being.
So only go as deep as you feel safe,
You know,
Safe enough to go.
If you need to take a break anytime,
That's absolutely fine.
So tapping on the side of the hand,
Repeating in your mind or out loud,
Reminding yourself by tapping with me you agree to take full responsibility for your own health and well-being.
Even though this fear of death terrifies me.
And I don't know what comes after.
I'm here now meeting this fear with compassion.
Even though my body reacts when I think about dying.
I accept what's here even though it's hard.
Even though I might never have all the answers.
I choose to love and accept myself.
Exactly as I am in this moment.
Okay so tapping on the eyebrow points.
This fear of death.
Feels so big.
Side of the eye.
What if it's just nothingness?
No more me under the eye and my body is really reacting to this.
So maybe your heart is racing.
Maybe your stomach has kind of dropped a bit.
Maybe you're feeling a weight in your chest.
Just notice what's coming up physically.
Keep tapping and breathing for a moment.
Trying to change it,
We're just observing at the moment what's happening in the body.
Well done.
Under the nose,
It's like standing at the edge of a vast unknown.
Chin points.
I'm scared of losing everything I love.
Hollow bone point.
I'm so scared of death and dying.
So we're going to go a little bit deeper.
So still tapping on the collarbone point.
I invite you to close your eyes if it's helpful to tune in.
If not,
It's fine to keep them open.
What we're going to do here is I want you to speak your fear exactly as it lives in you.
Now it might feel little bit intense and activating to say it out loud but it's really important that you give it a voice okay there's something really freeing about that when we really drag when we go down deep and we drag these fears out of the shadows they lose some of their power okay so i'm going to just kind of guide you through and give you some ideas so maybe your fear sounds like I'm so scared of dying or I'm terrified of the nothingness.
Or it could be something like,
What if death is really painful?
Just thinking about.
What that fear looks like for you.
And I'm going to share mine first,
OK,
So I don't need to say anything.
At the moment but whatever it is I do want you to say it out loud no filter no minimizing like just the raw truth of the fear however it comes out okay so don't overthink it too much I want you to remind you it's safe to be vulnerable okay we're going to do it together so I'm going to go first to support you and this is my fear okay I'm scared I'll die without having lived life to the fullest.
That's my fear.
Now it's your turn.
Remember no filters,
No minimizing,
Just the truth.
Tapping on the collarbone points.
Eyes closed or a soft gaze.
Fill in the blank.
I'm.
Say it out loud if you can,
Speak it out.
I'm What is your fear?
Well done.
I invite you now to say it again a little bit softer.
I'm.
Keep tapping,
Keep breathing.
Well done,
And now I'd like you to whisper it even softer,
Almost like a whisper.
I'm.
.
.
Well done.
Now I know this can feel really activating,
Sometimes even a little surprising what comes out from deep within,
But we're just going to keep tapping and breathing.
Okay,
And just know that by naming it,
By saying you've taken this swirling dread that's been churning inside of you and you're putting it outside of you,
Okay,
I know it's not gone.
I want you to imagine that you can almost see the words of what you've just said like a wispy trail in front of you,
Okay,
And it's no longer hidden in the depth of your psyche it's here and it's visible okay and what we can see and feel we can heal.
All right,
So tapping on the collarbone.
If you had your eyes closed for this,
You can open them now.
We're going to continue now.
We're going to continue acknowledging the truth of how we feel.
You can keep that fear in mind as we go through the rest of the process.
So moving now to under the arm points.
What if I didn't get to finish what I wanted to?
What if I didn't get to finish what I wanted to?
Top of the head.
This uncertainty is so hard.
It's just the not knowing.
Eyebrow points and death can happen so quickly like there's no warning side of the eye and then that's it.
Under the eye.
That's it,
It's the end.
The finality of it is so deep,
So heavy.
Keep tapping you're doing so well I know how hard this is.
Under the nose?
Where do we go?
What happens?
Chin point is hard not knowing all the answers.
Collarbone point when I have so many questions.
And again,
We're going to give a voice now to some of those questions.
So you can speak these if you want to,
If not just listen.
What will happen when I die?
Will it hurt?
Will I suffer?
What if I'm on my own?
Who will take care of the people I love or my animals?
What happens to all my things?
Have I wasted my life?
Like,
Does my life matter?
Do I matter?
I know this can feel really activating,
I understand.
How will my loved ones cope without me?
Take it slowly,
Gently,
Keep tapping,
Keep breathing.
Now if there are any other questions that you'd like to give a voice to,
I invite you to do that now,
So tapping on the collarbone points.
Just saying any more questions that you have out loud here.
Well done.
So then moving to under the arm.
This is all feeling really heavy on my heart.
Top of the head but I'm open to finding some peace and healing around this.
Take a breath.
Eyebrow point.
It's okay that I feel this fear.
Side of the eye,
I don't have to suppress it or push it down.
Under the eye.
I don't have to change it yet.
I can just hold it gently for now.
So you can imagine just gently holding that fear in your hands.
Under the nose,
Just noticing it,
Breathing with it.
We can do that now.
Let's take a really compassionate breath.
What if I could hold this fear a little more lightly?
Collarbone point,
Not fighting it,
Not clinging to it.
Just letting it be here for now.
Well done,
So let's just soften a little bit now as we tap on the collarbone points.
Remember to breathe.
Just softening the heart.
That your shoulders drop a little bit.
Just releasing some of that tightness you might be feeling in your chest.
A heaviness.
Let your tummy soften.
Release all the tension in your jaw.
Well done.
Under the arm.
I'm softening around and into this fear.
Top of the head,
I'm inviting peace into my heart.
Eyebrow point,
Maybe this fear is also love?
Maybe a love for life,
Being alive.
Side of the eye?
What if death gives life its meaning and its beauty?
Under the eye,
This impermanence kind of gently nudges us to love harder.
To give more.
And to hold nothing back.
Under the nose,
I'm choosing now to let some of this fear feel lighter.
So you can choose that for yourself.
Chin points,
Maybe it's safe to let some of the fear go now.
Collarbone points and this fear might have old roots.
Maybe a childhood memory.
A loss I can't quite name.
Or something that my body remembers before my mind does.
Keep tapping,
Just be open.
Under the arm and if that part needs care it's okay.
I don't have to go there today.
But I'm open to support when I'm ready.
Top of the head.
Whatever is here now,
I meet it with kindness.
Eyebrow points.
I don't need all the answers today.
And that's okay.
Inside VI.
I honour this fear,
But I am so much more.
That it's.
I'm more than this fear.
Under the eye,
Peace can exist alongside uncertainty.
Just like the roots of a tree holding firm in a storm.
Be the roots.
Under the nose,
Right here,
Right now,
I am safe.
Whisper that to yourself,
I'm safe.
Chin point,
This touch,
This breath,
This care.
This moment matters.
Collarbone.
I release what I can't control,
Like a tree releasing leaves into the wind.
So just imagine that now,
Just letting go,
Releasing what you can't control,
Like trees,
Like leaves in the wind.
Under the arm and fear might pass through me.
But it doesn't have to live in me anymore.
Top of the head,
Even in the face of the unknown.
I choose love.
I choose life.
I choose peace.
Okay we're going to say that again.
Even in the face of the unknown.
Even in the face of the unknown.
I choose love.
I choose life.
I choose peace.
Choose that for yourself.
Well done,
Stop tapping there gently,
Just put your hands on your heart centre for me.
If it feels right,
Just close your eyes,
Breathing softly.
Let's just listen to these words okay so whatever comes up after this tapping session today just remember You're allowed to feel the fear and still have joy and happiness in your life.
Okay,
They can co-exist.
You know you're allowed not to know all the answers and still trust in something,
Whatever that might be.
You know,
You're doing such brave work of facing what so many of us avoid.
So many people avoid it.
And just know that if that fear does return And it might well do.
Just know that you can meet it again this time.
With a little bit more wisdom.
Lots more softness!
And much more self-compassion than ever before.
And you will meet it.
And just as a gentle reminder,
There's some lovely words here to share with you from Rainer Maria Rilke,
Which is a quote.
Which is be patient towards all that is unresolved in your heart.
And try to love the questions themselves.
I'll say that again,
Just really let that sink in.
Be patient towards all that is unsolved or unresolved in your heart.
And try to love the questions themselves.
Try to love the questions.
Okay.
So really powerful actually,
Just shows your sensitivity and your beauty and your uniqueness.
You're doing so well.
So take a final breath here,
Breathing in through the nose.
And then exhaling,
Letting go fully on the exhale.
Just closing this session,
Open up your eyes.
Take a moment to feel into any shifts.
Maybe there is a sense of things feeling a little bit lighter.
Maybe you did gain a new perspective on this as well.
Maybe something came up that you do want to explore a bit deeper or you think,
Oh,
I didn't know that was connected.
Kind of join the dots with something.
Just know that you can trust the unfolding of that and know that you are perfectly capable of finding the support that you need and healing through that process.
Thank you for tapping with me.
Take really good care of yourself today,
Okay?
Lots of love.
