Today,
We're going to address those feelings of anxiety that can arise around our concerns about climate change.
Now,
It's completely understandable to feel overwhelmed by the weight of this.
You know,
It's on the news,
It's big,
It's scary.
I just want to reassure you that you're not alone in this,
But it's really important to acknowledge your feelings so that you can feel that you're in a more empowered space.
So we're going to do some lovely tapping to help you to feel calm and empowered.
All right.
So before we start tapping,
I'd like to take a moment to assess the level of anxiety that you're feeling.
So just tune in for a moment,
You might want to close your eyes here.
So perhaps you read a piece of news about the climate or saw something on TV or a video on social media.
Maybe this anxiety or worry has just been bubbling under the surface for a while and it's coming to a head.
We're going to assess that on a scale of 1 to 10.
10 is the highest level of anxiety that you can feel about it and 0 is completely neutral so there's no anxiety at all there.
Just think about where you'd be on that scale from 1 to 10.
Make a mental note of that number because we're going to check in again at the end after tapping.
Okay so where you're sitting now get yourself nice and comfy roll your shoulders let your tummy just soften let's take a nice deep breath together in through the nose Out through the mouth.
Well done and just start tapping on the side of the hand.
Follow what I do,
Say what I say.
You can say the words out loud or in your mind and change up any words that don't feel quite right for you as well.
Okay,
So just tapping softly on the side of the hand.
Even though I feel this overwhelming climate anxiety.
I acknowledge that I'm showing up for myself.
Even though I feel so anxious about the effects of climate change.
And I'm scared of what's going to happen.
I accept my emotions.
And I allow myself to feel them.
That's really important.
Even though I feel completely hopeless about climate change.
Am I worried about the uncertainty?
In the future.
I deeply and completely.
Love,
Honour and accept myself.
So what's the eyebrow pointless anxiety I feel about climate change?
Side of the eye,
It feels heavy and overwhelming.
Under the eye,
I worry about the future for our planet.
Under the nose,
This fear really just grips a hold of me.
I feel helpless sometimes.
You might want to say what you're feeling here.
Maybe you feel angry or unheard or scared.
I feel.
Say what you feel.
Collarbone point it's hard to think about all the changes needed.
You know there's so much to be done.
And yet the people that can do something aren't actually taking the action.
So just allow the frustration here to come up,
It's okay.
Just allow yourself to feel that,
Keep tapping.
Under the arm.
I really sense his urgency and pressure.
Why isn't anyone acting?
Top of the head.
I acknowledge all this anxiety within me.
So just feel that in your body.
It's okay to feel it.
Eyebrow,
I feel like I can't do enough Like,
Just me alone can't really make a difference.
Side of the eye is scary to think about the consequences of inaction.
Under the eye.
I feel guilty for not doing more.
But what can I do?
Under the nose I feel worried for future generations.
I feel sadness about the world we live in.
Insects,
Animals,
Environment.
All the people already being impacted.
It's really hard.
Collarbone point,
These emotions can feel so overwhelming.
So just take a moment here to really feel what's coming up.
I know it can be quite distressing.
You're doing really well I know how hard this is I feel it too,
So many other people feel it.
Onto the arm,
I allow myself to feel this discomfort even though I've been resisting it.
Top of the head.
It's normal to feel this way.
I'm only human.
I may need human.
Eyebrow,
What if I could take small steps to make a difference?
Just me,
Maybe I could.
Side of the eye maybe I could focus on what I can control rather than what I can't.
Under the eye,
I know that I have taken meaningful action in the past.
In some way.
Just think about what that might be.
Under the nose.
I acknowledge even how small actions can make an impact.
So just thinking here back through history,
How every big change started out as a tiny seed in the mind of just one person.
All these big changes.
I can see how I can contribute.
To change and are positive.
Meaningful way.
Collarbone point maybe I can embrace hope in this situation so take a breath here Just pause and think about what we've tapped on so far around those small actions.
Thinking about what you might be able to do,
Are there groups you can be a part of online and offline.
Reminding yourself that while you might not be able to make a massive change in the world,
Could you make small,
Subtle changes in your own little corner of the world?
Who could you connect with?
Under the arm,
I wonder if I can shift my perspective.
Top of the head,
It's okay to believe in my ability to contribute in some way.
No matter how small.
Eyebrow point.
Maybe somewhere along the way I learn that my voice doesn't matter.
It's okay for me to speak up.
About the things that are important to me.
Side of the eye.
I can focus on all the positive actions I've already taken in my life.
Under the eye,
I can celebrate the small victories in my life.
And in the news around me.
And online.
Under the nose,
I'm willing to explore ways that I can help or make a difference or speak up.
I can find joy in connecting with other people who care.
Collarbone point,
I can acknowledge the progress that's being made.
So just consider a moment any changes or progress that's being made,
You know,
People switching to ethical suppliers,
Banks,
Wind farms.
Solar panels on housing developments,
Buying local It's actions that we can take or that are being taken.
Under the arm,
I'm beginning to see a small seed of possibility and hope.
Top of the head and it's safe for me to hold on to hope.
Eyebrow point I give myself permission to let go of this heavy burden.
I don't need to carry all this on my own.
Side of the eye it's safe for me to release this anxiety.
Around climate change.
Under the eye.
I'm willing to let go of any guilt that maybe I'm carrying.
Doing the best you can.
Under the nose.
I wonder if I can release these negative feelings.
I felt them and now I can release them.
I give myself the space to breathe and feel calm.
Collarbone point.
I'm ready to lighten my emotional load.
So just stay here and feel that release for a moment.
Let's take a breath together.
And through the nose.
Out through the mouth,
Let your shoulders drop,
Let your tummy soften.
Relaxing that tension around your eyes and your mouth and jaw.
You're such a caring person for being here today tapping.
Just honour that.
Well done.
Under the arm,
I allow myself to embrace peace.
Top of the head and releasing this anxiety and feeling lighter.
Eyebrow point,
I'm willing to create a sense of balance in my life.
Side of the eye,
I give my permission to focus on self-care.
Because the more I look after myself.
.
.
The more I can give.
The more energy I have.
Under the eye it's safe for me to feel empowered.
Under the nose I wonder if I can embrace change with an open heart.
A mind.
I'm letting go of what I cannot control.
Collarbone point.
I'm open to the possibilities ahead of me.
Holding on to that Under the arm,
I'm willing to accept all my feelings without judgment.
It's okay to feel angry and frustrated.
Top of the head but for now I'm allowing peace to flow through me.
Let's do a round of lovely positive affirmations to finish.
I'm capable of making a difference,
Tapping on the eyebrow point.
Side of the eye,
I am part of a community that cares.
Because lots of people do care.
Under the eye,
I trust that my actions matter.
Under the nose on embracing hope and positivity.
I accept myself fully.
Just the way I am.
Collarbone point.

Take a moment,
Just put your hand on your heart for a moment.
Close your eyes.

You care deeply about the world we live in,
Deeply about the planet.
Thank you about all the change makers and kind people in the world.
Who do want to make a difference,
Yourself included.
So well done you,
Honour that.
Okay,
Take a nice deep breath in.
And let go.
And then I'm going to take a moment to check in with yourself again.
So thinking about that anxiety level that you had at the beginning,
You're going to now measure that scale again on a scale of 1 to 10 and just notice any shifts in your feelings,
Remembering that it's okay to feel what you feel and you're not alone.
Thank you so much for joining me on this little tapping session today.
Be gentle with yourself as you navigate your emotions and if you're still feeling activated,
You can complete this tapping again or come back to it anytime that you need to.
