Please note: These are unedited recordings from live sessions held each weekday morning online. Please keep in mind the context when listening. During this session, there is a 4 to 5-minute teaching followed by a spacious guided meditation. The meditations are spacious intentionally so that you can feel into your own experience rather than me talking through the whole 20 minutes.

So,

To cut a long story short.

.

.

Oh,

Welcome by the way.

Welcome.

Hi Magda,

Nice to see you.

Yeah,

To cut a long story short.

.

.

When I was a little boy,

My mum used to take me to my grandmother's for various reasons.

And she might say I'd be naughty or whatever,

But I'd run in and my grandmother would just hug me.

No matter what my mum said,

She'd just hug me.

All the grandchildren just felt loved.

And what she had in Zen,

Japanese Zen,

Is Sobomindo.

I think I pronounced it reasonably correctly.

It's grandmother mind.

That's what she had.

A grandmother mind,

Or grandmother heart,

Is just a mind heart that just welcomes everything.

It doesn't even welcome everything,

It's just a big welcoming open space.

It doesn't reject.

Acceptance is a natural state,

But we do something as we normally reject certain things.

And that's what we're doing here.

What are we rejecting in our life?

In ourselves?

In other people?

Sadness?

Feelings of shame?

Guilt?

Memories of when we did something which wasn't very nice?

Oh,

I don't want to think about that.

I'm not suggesting we think about it.

Maybe attitude we don't want to see in ourself.

Because this is a path of self-honesty.

I'm talking about walking around telling everyone your deepest secrets.

No,

I'm not talking about that.

But with yourself,

Where do we go into separation?

When someone looks you the wrong way?

When a certain person looks you the wrong way?

And we then bring it in,

Feel it.

That's where you're hooked,

That's where you're caught.

Is it certain politicians that make you go a little resistant and rigid?

Just notice it.

But right back to now,

To this session.

Bring to mind any problem,

Any troubles that you have.

Just bring them to mind so that they're here.

And just that there will be a corresponding feeling in the body.

There will be an echo in the body of that.

Feel it in the body.

That's the resolution.

I don't really want to.

.

.

I can't think of a better word at the moment.

So right now let's just turn towards experience.

Experience with an attitude of grandmother heart or grandmother mind.

Maybe something here that feels a bit heavy,

A bit tight,

Or just a bit uncomfortable.

Or bring something to mind and then feel it.

Explore the feeling of it,

The felt sense of it.

What does it feel like?

You don't have to answer that question,

It's rhetorical.

Feel the texture of what's here.

You're carried away,

It's okay.

Just take a deep breath.

Go back into the body.

Oh,

What's this?

Don't answer,

Just feel.

Oh.

Explore it.

Does it have a colour?

Does it have a shape?

How do you feel towards it?

Listen to it.

Allow it to reveal itself.

How does it feel emotionally?

Sometimes there's energy and emotion locked into these places.

Change all those descriptions to the word sensation.

A sensation can't hurt us.

You can just spend time with it,

Feeling into it.

Continue with this or you can begin to,

As it were,

Expand awareness.

Include the whole body,

The senses.

Where are you now?

Just checking that you're soft and relaxed.

If there's a tension,

Relax into the tension.

Okay.

That's the end of today's session.

Live in a grandmother mind.

Okay guys,

Have a nice day.

I love all the quiet space, wherein I can hear and feel the heartbeat of my Grandmother as she holds me with her mindfulness of LOVE.

I'm a new Gramma and I loved the idea of Gramma energy. TY
