This is a short meditation to help you find courage in moments of fear or uncertainty.
Please find a comfortable seated position with your back straight and relaxed.
Try not to sit too rigidly to avoid holding any tension in your spine.
When you are ready,
Please close your eyes and take in a slow,
Deep breath.
Hold the breath for a moment before releasing slowly through your mouth or your nose.
Take another slow,
Deep breath in,
Hold and release.
Take in one more slow,
Deep breath,
Hold and release.
Life can often be uncertain and with uncertainty can come moments of self-doubt,
Fear and anxiety.
When we face situations that we do not understand or that make us feel uncomfortable,
It is easy for feelings of overwhelm and worry to enter our minds and our bodies.
This meditation uses a simple mantra of three short sentences that you can repeat to yourself when you are feeling uncertain or concerned about a situation you are facing.
It is in moments like these that you need to call on the courage within you and these words will help you find that courage and build the strength that you need and can rely on.
I will say these three sentences now with a pause in between so that you can repeat each sentence as I say it.
You can repeat the sentence either out loud or in your mind,
Whatever you feel comfortable with.
We will repeat the sentences a number of times and as you get comfortable with the words,
Start to infuse the words with feelings as it is these feelings that you will be able to tap into the more that you practice this mantra.
So please take one more deep breath in and we will begin.
Fear and uncertainty allow me to tap into my courage.
I give gratitude for the strength I have within me as I access its power.
My inner strength and internal resources are all I need to face this situation with courage and power.
Fear and uncertainty allow me to tap into my courage.
I give gratitude for the strength I have within me as I access its power.

But know that you can always repeat these words whenever you feel you need to build your strength and courage.

Please feel free to write it out and perhaps place it somewhere where you can see it whenever you need to remind yourself that the courage is within you.
As this meditation now draws to a close,
I ask you to bring your focus back to your body and your surroundings.
Please gently start to move your toes and your fingers and slowly start to move your body.
And when you're ready,
Please open your eyes.
