Hi,
This is Alisa J.
And welcome to this meditation.
I'm glad you're here with me.
Let's remember back to when we were young and in school.
Whether we walked into a classroom or.
Perhaps logging into one online.
The day often began the same way.
The teacher took roll.
One at a time,
Our names were called and we answered,
Here or present.
Here,
Present.
We probably gave very little thought to the meaning of those words.
I know I didn't.
We were simply.
.
.
Letting the teacher know that our physical body had made it to class.
And in many ways in our lives,
We still do that.
We show up for our day.
We move through the schedule.
We do things we are supposed to do and check the boxes that need checking.
We use our minds to solve problems,
Make decisions,
And get things done.
But we aren't always really here.
We aren't always present.
Wouldn't it be beautiful if we taught children,
Those precious new souls just beginning to find their way through life,
That when their name is called each morning,
Here means something more than being in the room.
I am here.
And present means something more than being accounted for.
I am present.
What if that is where the teaching begins?
How to really be here and how to really be present.
For your own life.
And for us,
It isn't too late.
In fact,
You already know something about this or you probably wouldn't be here present with me for this meditation.
And as a little side note,
And not an unimportant one,
I want to thank you for being here with me.
So,
If your eyes aren't already closed,
And you're in a comfortable and safe place to do so,
I would love for you to softly close your eyes.
Make yourself comfortable.
Adjust anything that needs adjusting.
And take a breath in.
Then let it go.
Let's do that again.
Bring your breath in.
Feeling it move through your body.
And slowly let it go.
In a moment,
I'm going to be quiet for exactly five minutes.
And during that time,
With each breath you take in,
I'd love for your inner voice to say,
Hear.
And as you release your breath,
Present.
Breathing in,
Here.
Breathing out.
Present.
And that's all you need to do.
But give those two simple words your attention.
Let them mean something.
Here.
Present.
And if during your breathing your mind wanders off,
As minds do,
Simply notice it and bring yourself back to your breath.
Inhaling with here,
And letting go with ease.
Present.
I'll be back in five minutes.
So,
Let's begin.
Hi,
Welcome back!
Pachaur.
Own comfort,
Open your eyes.
And peacefully look around.
As you move through this week,
Try bringing this little practice into the beginning of each day.
In the morning when you first become aware that you are awake,
Maybe even before you open your eyes,
Have a little roll call for the day.
Imagine your name being called.
And you answer.
Here.
Present.
And mean it.
Thank you for being here and being present.
With me.
Namaste.
