Hi,
This is Stefania and welcome to Wisdom Bits.
Small bites of information to help you live the positive lifestyle that you deserve.
Today,
Let's talk about the importance of self-belief at all times,
But most importantly when you feel that,
Oh,
There's no reason to believe in yourself,
That you don't deserve it,
That you're not worthy,
That you're not good enough.
It's just not true.
We have a few tips back to being that amazing person that you truly are.
And we've got a little participatory exercise later that you can join in on if you like.
The self-belief that we have has a huge impact on our daily lives.
It can affect our moods,
How we act,
How we relate to others,
Even how successful we are.
It's important to have a positive self-belief so that we can face life's challenges head on.
So if you are feeling a little lost,
If you had a little setback that's knocked you back a bit,
Here are some ways to get your self-belief back.
One thing,
Your mind.
Use the power of your imagination and visualize your success.
This is a simple but effective way to boost your self-confidence.
Just picture yourself achieving your goal in your mind's eye and feel the satisfaction that comes with it.
You might have to do that a couple of times to overcome any resistance,
But it's worth a try.
But just visualizing without taking any action can sometimes be a bit pointless in reaching a goal or reinforcing your belief in yourself,
But the visualization can encourage us and give us energy because we're seeing a future self that is strong and confident.
And that energy is what will push us forward into action.
It'll take our focus away from thinking we're not good enough and put our focus on getting where we want to go.
Then what?
Where do we go from here?
The first step would be to write down your goals.
Writing down your goals can help you to crystallize your thoughts and make them more concrete.
And it can also help you to stay focused on those goals and not running off after anything that kind of catches your fancy.
It helps you stay focused.
Following on from this,
We would have to believe in ourselves a little more.
We have to believe in our capabilities and our ability to achieve our goals,
Be they family,
Relationships,
Career,
Whatever.
It's not always about work.
It could be other things as well,
But we've got to believe in our capabilities that we can do those things.
One way to start that is to recognize that you're not the only one who's ever felt this way.
Sometimes we feel so alone.
It's only me.
Everybody else is fine,
But that's not true either.
You're not the only one who's ever felt this way,
And there are others who have overcome difficulties in the past.
There are people who've walked this earth before you and after and have overcome seemingly and will overcome seemingly insurmountable odds.
You can do it.
But be sure to know that just because you don't believe in yourself doesn't mean you're a bad person.
It doesn't mean you're the odd one out.
We have so many reasons why we can lose our belief in self.
I've done it.
Life can get in the way.
We can become complacent or we can be buffeted by events that we can't control.
But whatever the reason,
The result is a weakened faith in ourselves.
So firstly,
We have to acknowledge that it's gone while at the same time accepting ourselves unconditionally as and where we are right now.
We are still good enough.
The important thing is to keep a positive attitude and surround ourselves with positive people.
They can lift our spirits and encourage us to keep going.
And we need to remind ourselves that no matter what happens,
We have the power to change our own fate.
If we believe in ourselves,
Then we can accomplish almost anything.
As we said,
It's good to have people around who believe in you and support you.
But if you don't have a network of positive people in your life,
There are other ways to get that same energy.
We can read inspirational books.
We can listen to podcasts.
We can even join groups of like-minded people.
There are many ways to get your daily dose of positiveness.
Even if it doesn't come from your immediate circle of acquaintances and friends and family,
You can still get that positive boost to keep yourself going.
And if we dig deep enough,
We can find that little vein of positivity within ourselves that's never left us,
That has always been with us and will always be with us.
Use your memory.
Try to remember the good times and successes we've had.
We've had them.
We need to focus on the things that make us happy and make us feel good about ourselves.
We also need to remember the times when we faced adversity and persevered.
We have done this thing before and we can do it again.
We can.
The more we focus on our strengths and positive qualities,
The more self-belief we'll build.
And the more self-belief we have,
The easier it will be.
So how?
How is a big question.
How do you increase self-belief when things are going wrong?
The answer is simple,
But sometimes it's so hard to do.
You have to have faith in yourself.
If you don't have faith in yourself,
Then no amount of positive thinking will help.
You'll be stuck in a cycle of self-doubt and negative thinking and you'll feel like you can't do it.
And that's why things haven't worked out.
But that's not true.
Have a little faith in yourself,
Even if it's just the tiniest bit.
You can do this.
You just have to have the belief that you can.
And that's what will help you get through these tough times.
It's easy.
It's easy to lose faith in yourself.
I've done it more than once.
But you can get your faith in yourself back.
That's the good part.
You lost faith in yourself.
If you lost faith in yourself,
It's not the end of the world.
You can come back.
Here are a few tips.
If you're up for it,
This calls for a bit of participation and deep thought time.
You don't have to.
You could just listen if you like.
But if you want to get involved,
That's okay too.
I'll give you 10 tips.
And for each one of them,
Please either say it to yourself,
Or if you want to listen to this later,
You can journal on it.
I'll give the tip in the form of a positive statement.
And then please,
In your mind,
Or write it out why this statement is true and valid for you.
I'll give you an example.
For instance,
The first tip to getting your faith back in yourself is to believe in your skill,
Your skills.
So the question for you to answer in response to that is,
Why should I believe in my skills?
What is it inside me,
About me?
Why should I believe in my skills?
So then you think of a positive,
Affirmative reason why you can believe in your skills.
And for each quality of belief that I give you,
Same procedure.
You can take more time later,
Okay,
Listening to this and journaling to go a bit deeper.
But for now,
I will just give you a few seconds to think of a response.
And the first thing that comes to your mind is what you go for.
Think of it as a little game.
I am good enough because blah,
Blah,
Blah,
Blah,
Fill in the blank.
Let's go.
The first tip to getting your faith in yourself back is believe in your skills.
So why do you believe in your particular skills?
The second tip,
Believe in your capabilities.
Why do you believe in your own capabilities?
Next tip,
Third tip,
Believe in your potential.
Why do you believe in your potential?
What is that potential?
Why do you believe in it?
The fourth point,
Believe in yourself.
Why do you believe in yourself?
Why are you worth it?
Why do you believe in yourself?
The fifth point,
Believe in your dreams.
Why do you believe in your dreams?
Why is it worth you believing in your dreams?
Sixth point,
Believe in your goals.
Why do you believe in your goals?
Seventh point,
Believe in your vision.
Why do you believe in your unique to you vision?
Eighth point,
Believe in yourself enough to take the necessary steps to achieve your goals.
Why do you believe in yourself enough to take these steps?
Ninth point,
Ninth point,
Believe in yourself enough to keep going when things get tough.
Why do you believe in yourself enough to keep going when things get tough instead of just stopping and giving up?
And our last tip,
Believe in yourself enough to never give up.
Why do you believe in yourself enough to never give up?
If you're having a little trouble with this exercise,
One of the best and simplest ways to regain faith in yourself is to focus on the things you are good at.
Take the time to make a list of your strengths and accomplishments and anything else that you are proud of.
Seeing the good things you have done can help to remind you of your capabilities and give you the confidence to take on new challenges.
And remember,
Positive self-talk,
Change those negative thoughts in your head into more positive ones.
If you have to do it over and over again until you finally flush them out,
Do it.
Change those negative thoughts in your head into more positive ones.
Instead of telling yourself that you can't do something,
Focus on the steps you can take to make it happen.
That can help you.
That can help give you a greater sense of control over your life and boost your self-confidence.
We all make mistakes and we all experience setbacks,
Most of us anyhow,
But let's try to use them as learning opportunities and focus on what we can do differently the next time instead of putting ourselves down.
If something happens and we are knocked back,
It's okay to acknowledge that.
We don't have to pretend like it never happened.
It's okay to acknowledge it,
Then move on.
Think about what you can do differently the next time.
No matter what you do,
Don't give up on yourself,
Please.
Just keep working patiently and persistently on these life skills and you can get your faith back in yourself and move on to live that positive lifestyle that you deserve.
And that's it for today.
Bye for now.
