When you hear the words self-care,
What comes to mind?
For many people,
It's bubble baths,
Spa days,
Or expensive wellness routines.
And while those things can certainly be enjoyable.
Self-care is actually much deeper than that.
It's at its heart,
Self-care is anything that supports your well-being.
It's a practice of caring for yourself with the same compassion.
You might offer someone you love.
Self-care can look like rest.
It can look like setting a boundary.
It can look like drinking water,
Asking for help,
Taking a walk,
Going to bed earlier.
Saying no to something that isn't aligned.
Many people believe self-care is selfish.
But the truth is that caring for yourself allows you to show up more fully in life.
When we're depleted,
Everything feels harder.
When we're nourished,
We often have more patience and energy and creativity and resilience.
One of the biggest shifts I experienced.
Was realizing that self-care doesn't have to take an hour.
Sometimes it can take 60 seconds.
Right now,
Ask yourself.
What do I need most in this moment?
Then maybe the answer is movement.
Maybe it's quiet.
Maybe it's connection.
Maybe it's wrath.
Whatever came to mind,
See if you can honor that need today in one small way.
Because self-care is about consistently returning to yourself.
