Let us shift from overwhelmed to ease.
As you find a comfortable position where your body can fully soften.
Allow your eyes to close and take a moment to arrive here.
You don't need to solve anything right now.
You don't need to figure anything out.
For these next few moments together.
You are simply allowed to breathe.
Begin to notice the sound of the ocean around you.
The gentle rhythm of the waves.
The way the water moves in and out.
Just like your breath.
The ocean is not rushing.
It is not forcing.
It simply moves with the rhythm of life.
And here today you are invited to do the same.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose.
And gently exhale.
Again,
Breathing in calm.
And exhaling tension.
Breathing in softness.
And letting go of any tension.
Today we will be practicing ocean breath.
A breath that reminds the body I am safe.
I am supported.
I am allowed to slow down.
And in your mind's eye imagining yourself standing at the edge of the ocean.
Your feet are firmly planted in the warm sand beneath you.
As the waves gently roll forwards towards your toes.
And gently back towards the sea.
With every inhale the wave comes closer.
And with every exhale the wave recedes.
If you are someone who feels deeply.
Who notices the energy shifts of a room.
Who absorb the emotions of others.
Who experiences the world in vivid and powerful ways.
Take a moment to honor that sensitivity.
This sensitivity is not something that needs to be hardened.
You are like the ocean,
You are deep and vast.
And you can feel the waves of emotion without becoming the waves.
You can experience changing emotions without being consumed by them.
Now let's begin to breathe.
With the rhythm of the ocean.
Inhaling 1,
2,
3,
4,
Pausing at the top.
Exhaling 6,
5,

Pausing at the bottom.

Continuing on following that pace.
Creating space.
Releasing any overwhelm.
Staying with your breath.
Your mind is becoming focused and still as you breathe with each of the waves.
By now you have begun to activate your parasympathetic nervous system response.
Staying with those breaths just a little bit longer.
And now without focusing on counting those breaths,
Trusting your body to move with that gentle rhythm.
Envision that there is a blue light surrounding you.
Like the calm waters of the ocean.
This light wraps around your body.
Creates a sense of safety and a place where you can deeply rest.
A place where you can simply be.
I am safe in this moment.
I am allowed to slow down.
I can feel deeply and still remain grounded.
I trust myself to move through the waves of life.
Stay here for a few more breaths.
Listening to the ocean.
Feeling the rise and fall of your breath.
And when you're ready,
Gently bringing your awareness back to your body.
Noticing the surface beneath you Taking one final deep breath in.
And a long slow breath out.
Carrying this feeling of calm within you.
And knowing that whenever life feels overwhelming.
You can return to your breath.
You can return to yourself.
You can always return to this practice.
