Namaste.
I am Smita Joshi.
Welcome to my meditation practice in the temple of eternity.
You are sitting ever so comfortably within these tall temple walls,
Just in front of the inner sanctum of this vast temple.
No one here but you.
The cushion you are sitting on feels so comfortable.
You could sit here forever.
The warm yellow sandstone walls,
Though not close,
You can sense them from a short distance.
Cocooning you in an intimate embrace.
You instantly feel at home as if somehow you have been here before in some other time.
You feel so settled on your cushion,
Sinking into your comfortable seat.
But for the rays of the candles and oil lamps,
It would be dark as a new moon night in here.
The gentle flames of the oil lamps glimmer so softly,
You almost want to stroke them.
Flickering so peacefully,
Dancing with the gentle breeze coming in from the side of the temple.
The cool flow of the summer air caresses the back of your neck,
Soothing,
Comforting.
Close your eyes.
The more your inner eyes open,
The more the temple walls recede and wane.
Your outer world fades and dims,
Becoming less and less real.
The walls diffuse more and more,
Leaving you unencumbered by your outer reality.
Even your own body begins to slowly dissolve away.
All outer structures,
The temple,
The statues,
Your body,
Fade further and further away.
Blending into a continuum of ephemeral golden candlelight.
See the stone altar in front of you,
Gracing the relic of a tall statue,
The worn-out figure of a powerful deity of some ancient religion.
With the flicker of light,
The shadows of the statue dance on the wall,
Behind the altar.
It's so effortless to be at ease here.
It's so easy to let go of your life's concerns.
So easy to just glide into a state of peace.
As if somehow you've come home.
Take a deep breath.
After looking here and seeking there,
Perhaps from one lifetime to another,
You are finally home.
Take another slow,
Full breath.
Let yourself feel the relief,
The satisfaction of being home with your own self.
Slowly then slow,
Long,
Full inhale with the mantra,
So Hum.
I am that.
I am the All That Is.
So Hum.
Inhale So.
Exhale Hum.
Inhale So.
Exhale Hum.
Inhale So.
Exhale Hum.
Slow with your higher self,
Right within this ancient relic of a temple,
Where time has suddenly come to a standstill.
The difference between this moment and the next is the gentle flickering of the small dancing flames.
It makes you wonder,
What is time?
What is time?
The past,
The present and the future all seem to blend into one,
Into one solitary moment,
A moment of eternity.
You no longer know the difference between this moment and the whole of eternity.
In the absence of time,
You now know that you are an eternal soul.
You realise that you are an eternal soul riding the waves of time.
Nothing to do.
Nowhere to get.
Already,
Always home.
So Hum.
So Hum.
So Hum.
Nothing to do.
Nowhere to get.
Already always home.
Unencumbered by time,
Light,
Free,
An eternal being.
At peace within,
At one with all.
Namaste.
Namaste.
Namaste.
Namaste.
Namaste.
Namaste.
