Thank you for joining me today as we spend time with our hearts and the Heart Sutra which is a mantra used in Buddhism to take you over to the other side.

The other side of suffering,

Of resistance,

Of this need to cling on to the things that I think I need.

Take me over to the other side where there is unconditionality of love and compassion while acknowledging and taking the whole of the universe in.

The yin and the yang.

All the beauty and the destruction.

The devastating and the joyful.

Take me over to the other side where there is equanimity.

A knowing that is deep and vast like that of the night sky.

And let the other side come to meet me as I go forth to meet her.

The Heart Sutra mantra goes like this.

Gathe Gathe,

Para Gathe,

Parasam Gathe,

Bodhi Swaha.

Gathe means gone,

Gone from suffering to the liberation of suffering.

Gone from forgetfulness to mindfulness.

Gone from duality into non-duality.

Gathe Gathe means gone,

Gone.

Para Gathe means gone all the way to the other shore.

So this mantra is said in a very strong way.

Gone,

Gone,

Gone.

All the way over to the other shore.

In Parasam Gathe,

Sam means everyone.

The entire community of beings.

One goes over to the other side,

To the other shore.

Bodhi is the light inside.

Enlightenment or awakening.

You see it and the vision of reality liberates you.

And Swaha is a cry of joy or excitement like welcome.

Gone,

Gone,

Gone.

All the way over.

Everyone gone to the other shore.

Enlightenment.

Welcome.

Now I will sing this mantra a few times.

I welcome you to close your eyes and take it in completely into all of your being.

Let the mantra do the work for you.

Close your eyes.

Make yourself comfortable.

Take a deep breath in and breath out.

Deep breath in and breathe out.

In and relax as you breathe out.

Gone,

Gone,

Gone.

All the way over.

All the way over to the other shore.

In Parasam Gathe,

The entire community of beings.

I came across your teaching and rendition of this chant at just a moment I was exploring strengthening my back to walk steadier in the direction of my north star, and by extension, open my heart. And guess what? It was wonderful! I feel lighter, steadier, heart more open and my energy brighter after chanting this beautiful dream Thank you so much!
