Find a quiet comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
Sit or lie down in a way that feels supportive and grounding.
And now I invite you to close your eyes if it feels safe to do so.
And take a deep slow breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
This time is for you.
You've been carrying so much and it's okay to set it all down for a little while.
The world can wait.
Right now,
You are here to replenish.
Take another deep breath in,
Filling your lungs completely.
And as you exhale,
Imagine yourself stepping back from everything that has been demanding your attention.
Picture all your tasks,
Responsibilities and worries as a pile of stones in front of you.
And see yourself gently placing each one down on the ground saying,
I acknowledge you,
But I do not have to carry you right now.
Feel the weight begin to lift from your shoulders.
You are not abandoning your work.
You are allowing yourself the space to return to it with renewed strength.
And I invite you to say to yourself out loud,
I'm not my work.
I am more than my to-do list.
Now shift your focus inward.
Bring your attention to your body and notice where you might be holding tension.
Is it in your neck?
Your shoulders?
Your chest or belly?
Your jaws?
Your eyes?
Without judgment,
Simply notice.
Now take a deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Imagine sending a wave of softness to that part of your body.
Feel it begin to loosen and release.
Continue scanning your body from the top of your head to the tip of your toes.
Breathe into every tight spot,
Inviting ease and gentleness.
Your body has been carrying you through so much.
It deserves this care.
And now I invite you to bring your attention to the present moment.
Notice the sensation of the air entering your nose and filling your lungs.
Feel the surface beneath you,
Steady and supportive.
Listen to the sounds around you.
The distant hum of life or the quiet stillness of this space.
Remind yourself,
Right now there is nothing I need to do.
There is nowhere I need to be.
I am where I need to be.
I am enough in this moment and beyond this moment.
I am enough just as I am.
Let this awareness anchor you.
Whenever your mind drifts to tasks or worries,
Gently bring it back to the rhythm of your breath.
Now imagine a soft warm light glowing at the center of your chest.
This light represents rest,
Renewal and your inner wisdom.
As you breathe,
This light expands,
Filling your entire body with peace and clarity.
In this state of calm,
Allow these affirmations to flow into your mind and settle deeply within you.
And allow yourself to repeat these affirmations out loud or quietly to yourself.
Rest is not weakness,
It is strength.
When I rest,
I restore my ability to create change.
I gave myself permission to pause and breathe.
I am worthy of rest even when there is more to do.
Rest is an essential response and resistance to systemic injustices.
I allow myself to relax and rest so that I can impact the world more effectively.
Visualize these words as seeds planting themselves gently in your heart.
They will grow stronger each time you choose to honor your need for rest.
And when you're ready,
Begin to bring your awareness back to the room around you.
Wiggle your fingers and toes and feel the surface beneath you supporting you fully.
Take a final deep breath in,
Gathering all the calm and clarity you have cultivated here.
And as you exhale,
Imagine the sense of renewal flowing out into every aspect of your life.
Gently open your eyes,
Knowing that you can return to this practice whenever you need.
You are not alone in this work.
Rest is part of your power and you are enough.
Thank you for meditating with me.
I wish you a wonderful day and invite you to carry these affirmations with you today,
Reminding yourself that stepping back allows you to step forward with greater clarity,
Purpose,
And strength.
Wish you a wonderful day.
Salaam.
