Hello and welcome to this guided practice called Embracing Your Space as a Changemaker.
This practice is designed to help you release fear and claim the space you deserve,
Acknowledging the value you bring as a changemaker in every room you enter.
So find a comfortable position either seated with your feet firmly on the ground or lying down with your body supported.
Allow your hands to rest gently on your lap or at your sides.
Now close your eyes if you feel comfortable.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
Letting your belly rise and exhale slowly through your mouth.
Repeat this three times,
Allowing each breath to bring a sense of grounding and calm.
Imagine roots growing from the soles of your feet or the base of your spine.
These roots connect you to the earth,
To the ancestors who came before you and to the communities you represent.
Feel the strength and support of this foundation.
Know that you belong here,
Supported by those who have paved the way for you.
Now imagine a radiant light within you.
This light represents your unique identity,
Your culture,
Your voice,
And your experiences.
With each breath,
Allow this light to expand,
Filling your body,
Then your immediate space,
And then beyond,
Enveloping the room,
The building,
And even the horizon.
As your light grows,
Repeat silently or out aloud,
I have the right to take up space.
My presence matters.
I honor my heritage,
My identity,
And my worth.
I am unapologetically here,
Whole,
And worthy.
If thoughts or feelings of fear arise,
Visualize them as clouds in the sky.
Watch as they drift away,
Carried by the wind.
Each exhale lets go of doubt,
And each inhale fills you with courage and self-assurance.
Repeat silently,
I release fear and embrace my power.
I claim my space with confidence and grace.
Now,
Take a moment to reflect on the people and communities who inspire you and the impact you are creating.
Imagine their voices cheering you on,
Saying,
You belong here,
You are enough.
Feel gratitude for your journey and the resilience that has brought you to this moment.
Know that your presence is an act of resistance and a beacon for others to do the same.
Now,
Picture yourself entering a space where you might have previously felt small.
Imagine yourself standing tall,
Your light glowing brightly,
Your voice strong and clear.
You take up space unapologetically,
Knowing you are grounded in your truth and supported by the strength of your ancestors and your community.
When you're ready,
Bring your hands to your heart or another gesture of self-acknowledgement.
Repeat these affirmations silently or aloud.
I deserve to be seen.
I deserve to be heard and respected.
I take up space with pride and purpose.
I honor my roots,
My journey,
And my voice.
Now,
Take a few more deep breaths,
Feeling the expansion of your presence.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
Gently opening your eyes.
And as you return to the room,
Carry this sense of empowerment with you,
Knowing that you belong in every space you choose to enter.
You can return to this practice anytime you need to remind yourself of your power and right to take up space.
Let it be a tool to ground you in your identity,
Amplify your voice,
And inspire others to embrace their light as well.
As your light grows,
Repeat silently or out loud,
I have the right to take up space.
My presence matters.
I honor my heritage,
My identity,
And my worth.
I am unapologetically here,
Whole,
And worthy.
