Practicing Unconditional Self-Love
Is negative self-talk or self-hatred an ongoing issue for you? If so, please consider that we all have past conditioning that has fear, desperation, shame, and guilt lingering inside us. And, when we act from these places of inner hate and deprivation, we can be weak, mean, dishonest, or needy. In this meditation, you will practice sending waves of love to all past versions of yourself. Holding all the past versions of yourself in the light of unconditional self-love will heal you emotionally.
Transcript
You,
Yourself,
As much as anybody in the entire universe,
Deserve your love and affection,
Said the Buddha.
So hello and welcome to this meditation on unconditional self-love.
Before we begin,
Let's take a deep breath,
Filling and emptying your lungs completely.
And now,
Take another deep breath,
And while placing a warm hand on your chest,
Send yourself some love and compassion.
And I invite you to ask yourself,
Am I willing to love myself to such profound levels that I will heal,
Uplift,
And transform every area of my life?
And it is helpful to know that to instill a permanent change process,
Just a little bit of willingness to love yourself is all it takes to begin.
Just a little willingness.
So take one more deep breath,
And imagine how your life could look and feel when you love yourself with gentleness and tenacity as we continue to deepen into this self-love meditation.
Transformational self-love begins with honoring where you are right now and where you've been in the past.
From a very honest and compassionate perspective.
Do you need to love yourself more for the mistakes that you have made in the past?
Is negative self-talk or self-hatred an ongoing issue for you?
If so,
Please consider forgiving yourself.
We all have past conditioning that has fear,
Desperation,
Shame,
And guilt lingering inside of us.
And when we act from these places of inner hate and self-deprivation,
We can become weak,
Mean,
Dishonest,
Or needy.
So with every breath that you take in this meditation,
Send waves and waves of love to all past versions of yourself.
Sending all past versions of yourself in the light of unconditional self-love.
Promising always to be kind and gentle with yourself.
Starting today,
Being compassionate with past versions of yourself and continuing to be compassionate every day going forward.
Perhaps even saying to yourself,
To the past versions of yourself,
Every day,
In every way,
I love myself more and more.
And with all your heart,
Power,
And sincerity,
Consider saying this again.
Every day,
In every way,
I love myself more and more.
Memorize these words.
Engrave them onto your heart.
Every day,
In every way,
I love myself more and more.
Remembering as you say these words that unconditional self-love awakens better physical health,
Psychological wholeness,
Body vitality,
And emotional vigor.
Unconditional self-love helps your soul to feel freer and it invites your highest abundance.
This is because unconditional love is the essence of who you are.
So take a moment now,
Placing your hand on your heart,
And simply say,
I love you.
Always coming back to loving yourself,
Even if you feel imperfect,
Even if you feel not good enough,
Even if you feel bad or wrong.
Just keep coming back to self-love many times a day.
No matter what is going on in your life or how bad you feel about yourself,
Understanding that the root cause of most of your emotional suffering comes from a lack of self-love.
Believe and know that unconditionally loving yourself will heal and transform your life.
Encourage yourself to begin,
Continue,
And deepen the sincere practice of unconditional self-love on a daily basis.
And know that beginning to love yourself unconditionally is as simple as saying,
I love you,
To yourself with the deepest emotional intensity that you can muster.
It really is this simple.
You just have to have persistence to love yourself.
You just have to practice.
And to practice,
You just need to place your hand upon your heart and take several deep,
Long breaths and repeat this I love you statement with as much feeling as possible,
As often as you can,
During your day.
Opening and expanding your chest as wide as possible.
Say to yourself,
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
Flooding these loving feelings into every cell of your body,
Into every buried,
Unhealed emotion within you,
And into all the layers of your troubled mind.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
This simple act of repetition is a beautiful deepening into your lifelong process of loving yourself unconditionally.
Continuing this simple yet profound self-love practice on a persistent basis,
Saying I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
This will work on the negative patterns in your mind and on your painful emotional memories.
And as you practice,
Take the time to courageously meet your past selves with kindness and understanding.
Perhaps courageously writing down who you have been in the past and where you have been in honest detail.
Emotionally supporting all the earlier versions of yourself.
Feeling the shame,
The guilt,
The regret,
The mistakes and the blind spots.
Unconditionally loving the versions of you that have made all kinds of mistakes in the past.
Loving yourself with compassion,
Understanding,
And accepting all the earlier,
Less evolved,
Less wise versions of yourself.
But the younger versions of you need your love,
Support,
And encouragement.
So honor them by honestly thinking about and writing down who you have been in the past.
Sending love back in time to support them.
And as you breathe deeply every day into your heart,
Flood your body and your mind with love.
With each long breath in,
Opening and expanding your heart center to breathe in all the love in the entire universe.
And with each full breath out,
Pouring all this universal love into your cells,
Your heart,
Your mind,
Your emotions,
And your memories.
Bathing all the layers of your conscious,
Subconscious,
And unconscious minds in unconditional love.
And as you radically accept and forgive yourself on the deepest levels of your body,
Mind,
And emotions,
You can continue to gently review your past.
Looking deeper and deeper into how toxic shame and conditioned self-hatred has hurt you,
Has hurt your health,
And has hurt other human beings.
Looking at the many ways you have projected your self-hatred onto others through small and large acts of inconsideration and even meanness.
And seeing all of the ways in which you have relinquished your responsibility to love yourself onto others.
Asking others to love you in ways that you do not know how to love yourself.
Looking at the fear,
The shame,
And the unworthiness within you with clear and honest eyes and a very open heart.
And so whenever you are feeling afraid,
Ashamed,
Or unworthy,
Take several deep breaths,
Place your hand on your heart,
And repeat,
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
Saying this to yourself many times with passionate emotional intensity.
Gently saying to yourself,
Even though this shame,
Unworthiness,
And fear within me has caused harm to myself and to my relationships,
I love myself anyway.
Just know,
Dear one,
That you are worthy of emotional peace,
Radiant health,
Deep connection,
And fulfilling relationships.
Just repeating and anchoring thoughts of self-love within you will soothe you with kindness.
Flooding the energy of love through your mind and body in as many moments of your day as you can.
Inhaling yourself deeper and deeper to receive and give this love to everyone,
Everywhere.
These heart commands of self-love as they root deeper into your emotional body reach further into all levels of your conscious,
Subconscious,
And unconscious minds.
The power of unconditional love is growing inside of you right now on levels beyond your conscious understanding.
And in the minutes,
Hours,
Days,
And weeks to come,
Your genuine love for yourself will continue to grow and expand with determined practice.
So as we end this meditation,
You can say to yourself,
As you slowly open your eyes with your hands still on your heart,
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
Say this as many times as you can today,
Always remembering.
Whenever you find yourself feeling depressed or hopeless about yourself,
About your past,
Or about your future,
Automatically use that as a cue to bring your hand to your heart and say to yourself,
I love you.
