Hello and welcome.
My name is Shelley Karpati and I'll be your guide for the next few minutes where I will help you ground.
Coming away feeling refreshed,
Centered and supported.
Meditation is like putting your oxygen mask on first.
Think of it as an act of self-care and love for yourself.
So let's get started.
Take a upright,
Dignified,
Relaxed yet alert seated position on your cushion,
Your chair,
Or maybe just sitting on the edge of your bed.
And let's begin to breathe.
Focus on the sensations of breathing in your body.
Feel your breath as you inhale and exhale.
And if your mind wanders as it will do,
You can always begin again and just return to your breath.
And let's begin to do a body scan,
Inviting your body to soften and relax.
Just noticing the tight places in your body and breathe into them,
Inviting them to relax.
Begin to relax your face.
Unfurl your brow.
Then clench your jaw.
Relax those shoulders down away from the ears.
Continue to breathe.
Here now in this moment.
Notice what is happening inside of you.
Just breathe.
Relax your arms,
Letting them hang gently on your lap,
Hands face up or face down.
Feeling your buttocks connected to the seat beneath you,
Pulled by the natural weight of Mother Earth,
Gravity,
Grounding you and supporting you.
Your legs.
Breathe into your legs.
Feel your knees and calves and feet.
Let go.
Breathe.
And let's continue to ground.
Imagine that you are extending a large tree root from the base of your spine into the earth.
Let it anchor deep down into the heart of the earth.
Exhaling your feet to receive the life force of the earth,
Like a tree drawing water from the ground.
Feel the earth's energy move up through your feet and legs into your first chakra at the base of your spine.
Imagine releasing negative,
Old or stuck energies down,
Down to the earth through your grounding anchor to be composted.
Continue this cycle three times,
Sensing the earth energy moving up through your feet,
Into your pelvis and then back down into the center of the earth.
In your mind's eye,
See that energy circulating,
Supportive,
Loving.
Just breathe.
You are fully supported.
You are fully supported.
Positive energy coming up,
Up into your heart.
Negative old stuck energy is going down into the earth.
Let mother earth handle it.
It's okay.
And now that you feel that support,
Let's imagine owning your space around you.
See yourself inside a beautiful golden cocoon with a gold perimeter,
A boundary around you at least three feet in all directions.
Do you see a color filling the inside of the cocoon?
Perhaps it's a healing color like blue or purple.
Isn't it beautiful?
Begin to connect with your heart,
Which is your intuition and your very true nature,
Your spirit within.
This awareness in your heart and intuitive center,
Which is your sixth chakra between your brows.
Breathe and ask for and be open to receive guidance.
May it be so.
And as we come to the end of the sitting,
I wish for you grounded in the space of your body.
Intuitive loving kindness.
