Hello,
Friends.
I want to come on and share a very profound experience I had today because I think it's something we can all relate to.
In fact,
It might be something you are experiencing right now in your life.
It was an experience with rigidity,
Inflexibility,
And shifting into being flexible,
Making space for something good.
You see,
I've been planning a yoga retreat for many months now,
For approximately 4 plus months.
I booked a retreat property at least 4 months ago and I was very excited about it.
My retreat starts in 2 days.
This morning I was out on a run,
Running through my neighborhood,
And I got a text message from the rental company saying that there were maintenance issues with our retreat property and they had to cancel our booking.
And momentarily there was some serious panic.
It was the feeling of,
No,
I planned it.
They can't ruin my plan.
It has to go according to my plan.
It's not fair.
You know,
All of that stuff was going through my mind.
And somewhere in the midst of the being breathless from running and being panicked that my place had been canceled,
I silently uttered this prayer.
Work this out or bring us something better.
Essentially this or something better.
Such a simple prayer but so profound.
Within 90 minutes or less I had a full refund.
I found a property that was even better.
In an even better area.
Better proximity to the airport for folks flying in.
Better proximity for the people driving.
And it even had a dedicated yoga room,
Which the other place did not.
So worked out so beautifully.
But I want you to think about your own life.
How many times have you had your mind made up that life had to go a certain way?
And when it didn't go according to plan,
Ooh,
You were frustrated.
Hurt angry,
Upset,
Digging your heels in.
Can you relate to that?
Maybe when you were younger,
There was a romantic relationship that you really wanted to work out.
Maybe you thought you were in love and it didn't work out.
Maybe at the time you felt crushed,
Devastated,
Upset.
Look back now.
Maybe with retrospect in hindsight,
You can go,
Thank God that didn't work out.
I dodged a bullet.
Maybe you can relate to that in your career.
Maybe there was a season in your life where you really wanted a specific job and you,
Put heart and soul into the application and interview process and you didn't get the job.
But what if your heart and soul were protecting you from maybe an awful boss or an abusive work situation,
Or maybe the company ended up going bankrupt?
We never know what all the possibilities are.
But if we can leave an element of flexibility in our creation,
Our plans are manifesting,
The attitude of this or something better.
The something better is often far better than what we had initially planned.
So I want to invite you to join me in a meditation.
Just simply close your eyes for a moment.
Let's take a nice big belly clearing breath,
Deep inhale through the nose,
Expand the navel outwards,
Big sigh out the mouth.
Let the breath go.
I want you to think of a situation in your life right now where you are very adamantly set on things going a certain way.
Perhaps stubbornly so.
And I want you to notice where you feel any sense of inflexibility or rigidity in the body.
When it comes to it must be my way,
Where do you feel that energy in your body if you feel it at all?
Let's take two deep clearing breaths into that part of the body and a big sigh out through the mouth.
Deep breath in again,
Send the breath to where there's stuck energy,
Big sigh out,
Let it go.
Now I'd like you to imagine that this thing you are creating,
Doing,
Manifesting is represented by you carrying a big basket of heavy rocks up a hill.
That basket is extremely heavy because of all the rocks in it and you are straining and struggling under its weight.
I'd like you to imagine that as you leave that space,
That openness to something better,
This or something better,
As you have that sense of flexibility,
That one by one those rocks jump out of your basket.
The more you open to possibilities,
The more you open to new ideas and information,
The less rocks you are carrying in that basket.
In this moment,
I'd like you to think of that situation that you are creating or manifesting in your own life.
I'm going to ask the wisdom of your heart and soul in this moment to plant some new ideas,
Thoughts,
Even visions in your mind's eye of what the better could be,
What the possibilities are.
Take a moment to feel that.
Can it be better than you had previously imagined?
Is there room for it to be more exciting,
More wonderful than your original plan?
And if you can sense that,
It could be better,
Could be more amazing.
I invite you to imagine that you take what's left in that basket of rocks,
You turn it upside down,
Empty all the rocks out and you are literally free to sprint up the hill,
Light,
Free,
Effortless,
Easy,
So much easier than carrying that massive basket of rocks.
I want you just for a moment to feel and see yourself as if what you are creating and manifesting has already happened,
But it's happened with these new and possibly improved potentials in place.
Imagine yourself already in the midst of it,
Experiencing it,
And it truly is better than you originally planned.
When you're ready,
I invite you to open your eyes.
Thank you for joining me on this meditative journey.
I am making an earnest effort in my own life from this point forward to let that be my prayer daily.
This that I thought I ever planned was something way better.
Thank you all so much.
Have a beautiful day.
