Welcome to this five-minute meditation,
Pausing the Day.
This meditation is to give you a chance to take a break from your day and to help you to observe your mind and to allow it to run free without needing to follow its trail of thoughts.
I invite you to move into whatever position is comfortable for you.
It may be sitting,
Standing,
Laying down or anything that helps your body to feel comfortable.
Your eyes can be closed or in a soft downwards gaze,
Whatever works best for you.
As you breathe,
Do you notice a sensation of air moving around your nose?
And perhaps you can sense any aromas that are in your space.
Now take a moment to listen to your space.
You may become aware of some detail in your space that you hadn't noticed before.
This could be sound or this could be silence.
Now move your attention to yourself and bring some awareness to any energy that you may feel in your mind or body.
You may even notice some energy of your day still lingering with you.
Just observe any sensations as they are,
Without judgment,
And allow them to flow from moment to moment.
Place your attention on your breath.
Imagine a cloudy sky that reflects the energy that you feel in your mind and body.
Imagine a beautiful sky that reflects the energy that you feel in your mind and body.
Imagine a cloudy sky that reflects the energy that you feel in your mind and body.
As you breathe,
You may find that the clouds start to move slightly and you may even see some blue of the sky appear.
Observe from a distance any feature that you may notice.
It may be a shape,
A movement of a cloud,
Perhaps even a patch of blue.
Observe any shape or movement as it is.
Imagine the clouds reflecting your thoughts and watch as they move and change shape,
Never staying the same but constantly shifting across the sky.
Notice any changes in the sky occurring with your breath.
Now gently bring your attention back to your body.
Notice any sensations of contact from your clothes,
On your skin,
And perhaps even the surface that's supporting you.
In your own time,
Breathe deeply and gently open your eyes.
