This is Everyday Magic for Ukraine.
Today we acknowledge our sanctity.
Welcome to the circle.
So the only thing you need today,
If it's convenient,
Is a pen and paper.
You can also use your imagination.
That's totally fine.
And as we gather today,
I invite you to settle your mind and your body.
Maybe join me in a breath.
You might notice now if your body would like to say hello,
Do an emotion,
Maybe a little gentle shaking or swaying.
Just very gentle,
Gentle greeting to your body.
You might give yourself a big hug.
And as you know,
Throughout our meditations,
You are welcome to be stationary.
You are welcome to be moving whatever your body needs,
Whatever your nervous system needs.
So let's transition now to a little bit more of a focused space.
You can keep your awareness on your body or you can let your awareness drift to our topic,
Which is acknowledging our sanctity,
Which is just another way of saying that we are sacred.
You are sacred.
I am sacred.
As people living our lives on this earth today,
We are sacred.
It can be kind of easy to forget that because we might get in the habit of revering our ancestors or a deity or a system or a leader.
But it's really important to remember that we ourselves are sacred.
And to play with this a little,
I invite you to get out your paper and pen and draw a symbol of a star.
And if you're imagining this,
Just imagine drawing a star on paper.
Let's say that this star is you.
So you're beholding yourself as this beautiful star that is very special and very perfect.
And this might be a good moment to allow any other voices to come in,
Any maybe critical voices from within our heads that say,
Oh,
No,
No,
No,
I'm not special.
Or no,
No,
No,
I can't take up space.
Or everybody else is more important than me for reasons A,
B,
And C.
So if you hear any voices like that echoing in your head,
This is a good time to just listen to them,
Hear them out.
They are most likely trying to protect you,
Perhaps protect you from having an overinflated sense of self,
Because that can lead to downfall.
Of course,
All of the parts of us are working for our wholeness.
So if you have a critical voice,
You can listen and honor it.
And then you can choose,
If you want,
To ignore it.
And instead,
Say,
Yes,
I hear you.
And actually,
I'm pretty cool.
I do good things.
And even aside from anything I do,
I exist.
And that is magical.
I am a gift to this world,
Because I am me.
And let this star that you've drawn,
This star that represents you in this moment,
See it shining.
See it glowing.
And between you and me,
It's okay.
It's okay to shine.
Let yourself shine.
What does it feel like in your body to see this star shining?
Is there anything you'd like to let go of?
Anything that might be trying to dampen this light?
Any doubts or fears?
If you feel them in your body,
Or on you,
Or see them on the star,
Any kind of cloudiness,
Go ahead and let that drop off.
See what it would feel like to allow those elements to drop away.
Just letting anything fall off that star that doesn't need to be there,
And allowing it to glow.
Feeling within your body what it feels like to glow,
To own this sense of being sacred and wonderful.
Just own it.
Just own it with us in circle.
Can you make room for yourself in your body?
And what would it be like to share this light with your community?
To allow your light to shine through your eyes and through your skin when you're with people?
Or just energetically let it shine out through the building you're in,
And through the town you're in,
Letting your presence be a blessing.
May we all remember how sacred we truly are.
May it be so.
