Symbolic language offers us a way to articulate the ineffable. I hope this poetic journey through the woods reaches your imagination to show you how beautiful you are for carrying that fragile flame of hope close to your chest. When all is out of our control, hope is our anchor, hope is our flame that allows us to see but an inch ahead of an otherwise pitch-black place. I hope you treasure what hope you have in your heart and protect it, for it is so very easy to snuff right now. Sez

Look at how beautiful you are,

Dear soul,

As you walk these dark woods,

Making friends with the raven and the full-bellied moon,

Untangling your bones from the bramble,

Unbraiding the fine threads of spider's web from your hair.

Look at how beautiful you are,

Dear soul,

Holding fiercely to that small flame of hope,

Caged between two palms,

Held tight across chest,

You brave a storm that has no concern for your survival.

Look at how beautiful you are,

Dear soul,

Walking onwards,

As wind gathers you up under its downy wing,

Why you don't just allow yourself to abandon that flame I don't know,

How easy it would be to douse it with pools of rain,

Open hands and be rid of its responsibility,

But still you push onward,

Thorn scars bark scrapes,

Howling darkness as a companion,

You hold on,

You hold on to that hope.

Look at how beautiful you are,

Dear soul,

How vulnerable,

How soft your fragile form weaves these woods,

How you hold on to and protect that piece of you that lights just an inch of the way ahead,

How beautiful you are for waking up today and trying again,

Despite it all.

How powerful and beautiful imagery. A new favorite poem about hope joining Emily Dickinson.

I wish I felt more hopeful. I must learn to sing to my heart under the crescent moon.

This is a very stirring piece, moody and evocative. It seems representative of the determination required to hold fast to hope, come what may, in a world which presents unending challenge and adversity. We must each find ways within ourselves and hopefully with each to guard our flame and keep hope alive. Nicely done!

Heartwarming and comforting poem. Every time I listen to it I feel understood and seen. This is the language I understand best. It expresses emotions best, describes beauty best... to me. I wrote it, from the first to the last letter, down in my motivation-journal. Thank you, beautiful soul, for sharing ✨️

Beautiful poetry - evocative and meaningful. My only comment is that I often find the music to be a distraction from the poem itself. Personally, I’d prefer to hear it without music. Poetry itself is enthralling and has its own β€˜music.’ That being said, I love this poem and may use it as a prompt for journaling. Thank you for this offering, Sez.

The word & cadence make this SO wondrous- rated 9.239/10 If you add 30 seconds more of music at the end (adds points 🫠) Technical: 😬 the mix (production) needs to re-mix to lessen the β€œbreathy” tone a tad And ~ πŸ€”πŸ™ƒ slow the cadence a bit; more . . . pauses Will enjoy many more times. Thank you so much πŸŽˆπŸ™ƒπŸ˜ŠπŸ« πŸ™
