This is a journey meditation where we will be taking a trip to the underworld.
And during this trip we will be going to visit Persephone,
Flower maiden and queen of the underworld.
At all times you will be 100% safe.
So let's take some time now to get comfortable in a chair,
Feet flat on the floor and let our bodies relax.
Let's take a big deep breath in.
Feeling our bodies and our minds starting to slow down.
Noticing our minds have already switched off from the day or the night.
Let's take another deep breath in.
In your minds eye see yourself arriving in a big field.
A big field of flowers where leafy green trees are all around.
There are some animals here too.
Giving ourselves a moment just to enjoy this beautiful,
Serene,
Calm,
Lush field of flowers.
Feeling its magic all around us.
Knowing that this is Persephone's special place when she is not in the underworld.
After spending some time in this beautiful,
Sunny field full of flowers.
You start to feel even more relaxed than you did before.
You start to gaze ahead of you and start to see a large doorway in the ground start to appear.
You walk closer and closer to this doorway in the ground and you open the door.
Behind the door you notice that steps have appeared.
You start to see that these steps go deep into the earth.
Deep into the underworld.
Before you walk in you notice that a small bag lies on the ground.
You pick up this bag,
You open it and find three items.
A wooden torch with the biggest,
Brightest flame so you can always see in the dark.
You also see in this bag a beautiful crystal amulet to wear around your neck to protect you so you are completely safe on your journey to the underworld.
You also see a pomegranate.
This is an offering for Persephone,
Queen of the Underworld.
You put on the amulet and feel your whole body start to tingle.
In one of your hands you pick up and then hold the torch,
Noticing how the flames are so bright and feel so warm against your skin.
In the other hand you hold the pomegranate and start to enter the doorway.
In the ground you start going down into the underworld where Persephone awaits.
You walk down what feels like hundreds of steps.
Leading you down,
Down,
Down,
Further and further into the underworld.
You reach the final step and notice that you have reached the centre where the air feels damp on your skin.
Instinctively you seem to know the way to move forward using your wooden torch to light up the dark so you can see where you are going.
On your journey in the underworld you cross a large bridge.
This sits above the river Styx and energetically as you walk over the bridge you feel how much power and magic is flowing in this river.
You hear the water beneath you flowing,
Running,
Splashing and you know the path that you walk on is leading you deeper and deeper into the underworld.
You walk off the bridge along the banks of the river Styx and notice that you are being instinctively pulled forward.
Up ahead you start to see a series of magical torches hanging off a rocky wall that light the path that you walk on.
Beside these torches at the end of the path is a large ornate door which is currently closed.
Walking closer you reach the door and see a big golden handle which you are able to push forward.
As you walk forward you start to notice that the door has opened and leads into a big,
Beautiful lavish room that is filled with flowers and candles and enchanting smells.
On the other side of the room you notice that there is a large throne encrusted with jewels.
As you start to move around the room taking in all of the sights that you see you start to get this feeling like someone is watching you.
Turning around you see that Persephone herself,
The queen of the underworld is sitting on her throne looking directly at you with a knowing grin on her face.
She encourages you to come closer and as you approach you naturally bow and lay the pomegranate at her feet as an offering just for her.
Her luscious,
Long and radiant hair sits underneath her crown and her skin smells divine.
You stare so deeply into each other's eyes and without saying anything you start to sit on the steps in front of her throne.
She begins to thank you for coming to visit and says lovingly that she is so glad that you're here and she knows that you've travelled such a long way to see her.
As your conversation with Persephone begins she asks you if you have any questions for her to answer or if you have any advice that you need.
This is a time for you to seek her counsel knowing that she knows all and can lovingly guide you in even the darkest situation.

She bows her head to you and with the flick of her wrist the door to her chamber opens and you know that your time together has finished for now.
You begin to walk out the way you came,
Along the river sticks,
Over the bridge,
Up the steps one by one,
Seeing the light from the field with the flowers get brighter and brighter the higher that you climb.
You exit through the door that you walked into the underworld in and now reach the field.
You start to smell the fresh air and see the flowers all around you,
Start to notice the trees surrounding the fields.
So let's take a moment to compose our thoughts and enjoy the last moments of this magical journey.
It's now time to come back to the room that you're in,
Feeling your feet flat on the floor,
Feeling the chair underneath you holding you up.
They start to wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes and take a big deep breath in and now open your eyes.
