Hello my dear Harkonners,
Today's meditation is an exercise in cultivating the spiritual fruit we observed yesterday.
To begin,
I invite you to quiet your mind.
Relax your body and close your eyes if it is safe and helpful to do so.
Be still.
Hold an attitude of gratitude and non-judgment,
And embrace a heart and mindset of peace and loving kindness.
For this meditation,
I encourage you to posture your body and hands in a receiving position as we did the other day.
And wait.
Have patience.
Let's just sit in the stillness for a moment while we focus on being patient.
And now let us shift our focus to that which causes us to be impatient or agitated or frustrated.
Perhaps it is even just something we are waiting eagerly for.
Something we are awaiting eagerly and is causing impatience in us.
Imagine we are holding that impatience in our hands.
Just sit with that for a moment.
Now close your hands over this object of agitation or impatience itself.
Close your hands over the impatience as if you are holding on to your own frustration.
This is what we do,
Isn't it?
We hold on to the things that cause us to be impatient.
Impatience itself is really an act of letting go.
So now,
Opening your hands again,
Let it go.
Let go of the impatience.
Let go of the frustration.
Let go of the agitation.
And even let go of the excitement that causes us to be impatient.
And once again,
Resume a posture of receiving.
And wait.
Sit in the stillness.
Be still.
Have patience.
Leave patience.
Continue to become ever more patient.
Receive patience.
Be patient.
Thank you for meditating with me today,
My dear Harkonners.
May grace and peace,
Light and love be with you.
