Hello,
My dear hearkeners.
And welcome to our Bible Meditations for Mental Health series.
Today's meditation.
Is on schizophrenia.
To begin this meditation,
I invite you to close your eyes.
Let's observe that with the simple act of closing your eyes,
Your mind quiets down,
Your spirit slows,
And even your heart rate can have a tendency to slow.
Simply closing our eyes.
Is one of the quickest,
Easiest ways.
To be still.
Let's enter this meditation with this spirit of stillness.
An attitude of gratitude and non-judgment.
And a heart and mindset of peace and loving-kindness.
Schizophrenia is a complex mental health condition that can alter perception,
Thinking,
And reality.
It may bring hallucinations.
Disorganized thoughts.
Or distressing internal experiences.
It can feel isolating,
As though the mind has become unfamiliar territory.
Yet even here.
God remains present.
God remains present.
For God did not give us a spirit of fear.
But of power,
Love,
And wisdom.
And a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1.
7.
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast.
Because they trust in you.
Isaiah 26 verse 3 The righteous cry out,
And Adonai hears them.
God delivers them from all their troubles.
Psalm 34.
17 These verses remind us that God's presence is not limited by the state of our minds.
Even when thoughts become tangled or confusing.
God surrounds us with power.
And the promise of peace.
God hears every cry.
And stays near through every internal storm.
Nothing,
Not confusion,
Not fear,
Not altered perception,
Can separate us from God's care.
I don't know.
When my mind feels chaotic or unfamiliar,
Hold me in your perfect peace.
Anchor me.
In your presence.
Clarity.
Where there is confusion.
Comfort where there is fear.
And steadiness.
Where there is uncertainty.
Amen.
Thank you for meditating with me today,
My dear hearkeners.
I look forward to guiding you again soon.
And until then,
May grace and peace,
Light and love,
Be with you.
Be with you.
