Hello my fellow hearkeners.
Welcome to our Bible Meditations for Mental Health series.
Today's meditation is on loneliness.
To get into the spirit of meditation,
I invite you to close your eyes and notice that with the simple act of closing your eyes,
Your mind organically gets quieter.
As your modding quiets,
I invite you to relax your body in a position you can be comfortable in for a few minutes.
In other words,
Be still.
Let's enter this space together with this spirit of stillness,
An attitude of gratitude and non-judgment,
And a heart and mindset of peace and loving-kindness.
Loneliness is the quiet ache of feeling unseen,
Unheard,
Or disconnected.
It can settle in.
Even when others are near.
Loneliness whispers that we are forgotten.
Yet scripture reveals a God who is closer than breath.
Let's take a look at what scripture says.
I don't know how it goes before you.
And will be with you.
God will never leave you.
Nor forsake you.
Do not be afraid.
Do not be discouraged.
Deuteronomy 31.
God sets the lonely in families.
Psalm 68 verse 6 Do not fear.
For I am with you.
Do not be dismayed.
For I am your God.
I will strengthen you.
And help you.
Isaiah chapter 41 verse 10 God does not wait for us to feel connected.
God moves toward us in times of loneliness.
God's presence is constant,
Gentle,
And faithful.
God places us within community,
Spiritual family,
And moments of unexpected belonging.
Loneliness says you are alone.
God says.
Adonai,
Hold me in moments of deep loneliness.
Surround me with your presence and with people who reflect your love.
Remind me that I am never forsaken.
Amen.
Thank you for sharing this space with me,
My fellow hearkeners.
I look forward to guiding you again soon.
And until then,
May grace and peace,
Light and love,
Be with you.
