Hey Harkiners,
Welcome to our Bible Meditations for Mental Health series.
Today's meditation is on disruptive behavior disorders.
As we enter into meditation,
I invite you to close your eyes.
Notice that by simply closing our eyes,
Our minds automatically get quieter.
Our bodies become more relaxed.
Our spirit becomes more still.
Let us enter this meditation with this spirit of stillness.
An attitude of gratitude and non-judgment.
And a heart and mindset of peace.
And lovingkindness.
Disruptive behavior disorders involve impulsivity,
Anger,
Emotional explosions,
Or difficulty responding calmly to limits or authority.
These behaviors often come from deeper pain,
Unmet needs,
Or internal storms that feel too big to handle.
Let's take a moment to examine how scripture can help us in times of disruptive behavior.
Clothe yourselves with compassion.
Kindness,
Humility.
And gentleness.
Colossians chapter 3 verse 12.
Better a patient person than a warrior.
One with self-control than one who takes a city.
Proverbs 16.
32 Be completely humble and gentle.
Be patient,
Bearing with one another in love.
Ephesians chapter 4 verse 2.
God does not shame us for our emotional storms.
God calms them.
Scripture calls us gently toward patience,
Compassion,
And self-control.
Not through willpower alone,
But through the Spirit's steady work in us.
Where impulsivity once ruled.
God grows gentleness.
Where anger once erupted.
God plans peace.
Healing becomes possible.
One moment.
One breath.
One choice at a time.
I don't know.
Calm the storms within me.
Grow patience where there is impulsivity.
Gentleness where there is anger.
And compassion.
Are there as her.
Shape me through your spirit into one who reflects your peace and love.
Thank you for sharing this tender,
Sacred space with me,
My fellow hearkeners.
I look forward to guiding you again soon.
And until then.
.
.
May grace and peace light,
And love.
Be with you.
