In the first chapter of the Gospel of Luke,
It is written that while Mary is pregnant with Yeshua,
She visits her cousin,
Elizabeth,
Who is also pregnant,
She with John the Baptist.
The author tells us that when the two meet,
Little baby John leaps for joy in the womb of his mother,
Elizabeth.
Let us take a moment to meditate upon this for a moment.
It is my prayer that this Advent season will awaken within us all a spirit of joy.
Perhaps we will even have moments when we jump for joy,
Like a child.
Advent,
After all,
Is a season when we get to focus on a time when joy came down to earth.
And we can meditate upon how joy continues to come down to earth year after year during this season.
And in fact,
Joy comes down to earth every time we embrace a spirit of kindness.
Glory to Yahweh in the highest,
And on earth peace and goodwill toward all humankind.
Glory to Yahweh in the highest,
And on earth peace and goodwill toward all humankind.
Peace and goodwill toward all humankind.
Peace and goodwill toward all humankind.
Peace and goodwill toward all mankind.
Peace and goodwill toward all mankind.
