Hi,
This is Scott.
Thanks for joining me today.
We're going to do a very simple,
Very grounding breathing technique called the straw breath.
So the way this is going to go is that we're going to inhale deeply through our nose,
And when we exhale,
We're going to exhale through our mouths as though we're blowing out through a straw very slowly until all the air of the inhale is released.
So I'll guide you through a few breaths like this.
This for me is one of the most grounding,
Relaxing breaths that I do.
If you're feeling overwhelmed,
You're feeling anxious,
You're feeling afraid or stressed out.
One of the beautiful things about intentional breathing is that in any moment when we're feeling those things,
We can return to our breath.
And with a few conscious breaths,
A few intentional breaths,
We can bring ourselves back into our body,
Into the present moment,
Into a grounded reality.
So I'm going to guide you through and again,
What we're going to be doing is you're going to take a deep inhale through your nose and a slow exhale through your mouth with your lips puckered as though you're blowing through a straw.
So let's clear the air out of our lungs and now take a deep inhale through your nose and then exhale through your mouth as though you're blowing through a straw slowly until all the air is out of your lungs.
And let's do that again,
A deep inhale through your nose and an exhale through your mouth as though you're blowing through a straw.
How good does that feel?
I love this breath.
It's more than any other breath,
Probably the one that really roots me in my body,
In my presence,
In my stillness.
Let's do it again,
A deep inhale through your nose and a slow exhale through your mouth as though you're breathing out of a straw.
And one more time,
A deep inhale through your nose,
Exhale out of your mouth through a straw.
I hope you feel like I do,
Grounded,
Centered,
Rooted,
Peaceful.
Remember that your breath is one of the greatest tools you have to work with and you can work with it at any moment.
When you're feeling overwhelmed,
When you're feeling worried,
When you're feeling afraid,
Return to the breath.
Allow your breath to bring you back into the present moment.
Allow the power of your breath to root you in your stillness,
In your peace,
In your quiet.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
Big,
Big love.
