Sound Bath Sessions 235: Amiga
My last recording in Japan was with Amiga at the Honshoji temple near the Shimbamba station, Shinagawa District. A professional DJ and producer, Amiga started playing singing bowls during covid to pursue a path that involved healing and helping other people. Then, when we finally agreed on a date, I ended up being late to the recording! Despite all of these roadblocks, we were able to record 2 beautiful sessions. A wonderful finale to my time in Japan. Our space was in an event space beside the temple. Despite the location of the temple being under the subway tracks and close to a main road, it sounded like somewhere else. The ebb and flow of the traffic and the rumble of the train sounded like the lapping waves of an ocean and distant thunderstorms. Interesting how your imagination can run wild without visual context. The only thing revealing the true location was passing police sirens in one of the tracks. You can hear the police siren in this track. Or was it a dream?
