Sound Bath Sessions 073: Debbie Sin
This session was amazing. We recorded at her friends studio in Tsuen Wan. The room was small and reverberant enough to envelope you from all sides, helping to amplify and sustain the sound of the singing bowls. As usual, distant construction sounds began as soon as we pressed record, but we kept going. I always want to see how these sounds interact with the performance. In this case, the noises actually made you listen to the bowls more intently as your mind actively tries to filter it out. The first part of a session is usually quite lively matching the tempo of your busy mind state, eventually slowing down to guide you to deeper relaxation. By the time Debbie was at this point, the grinding had stopped and I just felt my mind, so tired from filtering noise, was now able to rest and allow me to slip down deep into the session. It felt as if I was holding my breath until that point and now could finally breathe.
