Welcome to meditation with Sarah Nielsen.
Today we are going to do a meditation on our best self.
We are going to take some time to think about what that looks like and feels like and do some imagery work with it as well as ponder on some questions.
So let's settle in and take a moment to find a nice comfortable seat and allow yourself to make any adjustments that you need to.
So hopefully you can find stillness throughout this meditation.
You may be sitting in a chair,
Lying on a couch,
The floor,
Whatever feels good to you.
And again,
Take a moment and make any adjustments you need to so we can find stillness and allow your eyes to close and let's go into silence for a few moments and take a moment to let our body settle as well as our brain settle in.
Let's take a couple cleansing breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Let's repeat that once more.
In through the nose,
Holding at the top and expelling all that air.
Now let's begin exploring this concept of best me and what that looks like and what that feels like.
I want to allow a moment of free association in the mind.
I am simply going to repeat best version of me a few times and I just want your mind to let it go where it goes.
Maybe that is a picture of yourself now,
Maybe the future,
Maybe it is career,
Education,
Physical,
Financial,
Relationships,
Body movement,
Whatever comes to your mind.
Allow it just to go.
Again,
As I repeat,
Best version of me.
Best version of me.
Best version of me.
Let what comes up come up.
I wonder what that looked like for you.
I wonder what different aspects,
Parts of life came up.
And I also wonder what it felt like when those images came up.
Did you notice feelings?
Take a moment and whatever image came up,
Allow it to come up again.
And I want you to center in on what feelings come up with that best version of me.
Name those feelings and allow yourself to feel them within your body.
Where do you feel it?
Now,
Let's take a moment and explore best version of you in different areas of life.
And let's think about what that may look like.
Let's start with career or education.
What does it envision for you when you think of best version of me career or educationally?
What does that look like?
What are you doing?
Is it fulfilling?
Does it bring happiness?
What about best version of you socially or relationships?
What does that look and feel like?
Is it few close friends?
Is it many friends?
A good support system?
Networking?
What does that mean romantically?
Maybe that means moving from singleton to a relationship.
Maybe you're already in a relationship.
And that means an enhanced relationship,
A closer relationship.
Allow yourself a moment to think about what is best version of you relationship-wise.
Again,
Romantically,
But also platonically.
It could also mean work relations.
There's actually a lot of areas even within this realm we could explore.
I'm going to go silent for a moment and give you a brief moment to allow that to come up within you.
Now,
Why don't we think of another area,
Best version of you.
Let's move into financial best version of you.
What does that look like?
What does that feel like?
What does that mean for you in regards to salary,
Savings,
Rent versus own,
Debt,
Vehicle?
Allow yourself a moment to think about what is best version of me financially.
And if I was at that level,
What would that feel like for me?
We've explored career,
Education,
Relationships,
Financial.
There are many areas we can explore where we are envisioning best version of us.
I think that we could take a moment to also explore what that looks and feels like physically,
Athletically.
And again,
That can also mean a lot of different things.
Best version of you.
What does that look like with your fitness level?
What does that look and feel like with your body?
What's your body's able to do?
Endurance.
Maybe it's the ability to walk a certain distance,
Run a certain distance,
Bike a certain distance,
Get through a full class,
Chase your kids.
Maybe that means for you looking at different health markers,
Going from pre-diabetic to a non-status of that.
Maybe it means lowering your blood pressure.
Physical is also encompassing of health.
And so take a moment and think about what is best version of you,
Which could also include how am I eating to support best version of me?
How am I hydrating to support best version of me?
You are always welcome to pause and take more time within each area,
But I want to wrap up our meditation with a few thoughts on steps.
We have taken this time to explore a few major areas of life and what best version of us can look like.
And I want to take a moment to allow you to engage in thoughts and imagery and feeling it in your body and identify what are a couple steps I could take towards aligning my current self with best version of me.
Take a moment and identify a couple steps.
I encourage you to take those steps further and implement them in your life.
Take a moment.
Let's wrap up our meditation by briefly scanning through your body,
Noticing what's present and how it feels.
Holding on to the thought that best version of you is absolutely attainable and achievable and possible.
Breathe that in through the nose.
Holding and release the breath.
Thank you so much for being here.
Come back anytime.
