Hello,
Welcome back.
I'm Sarah,
A somatic facilitator and coach,
Here to help you build nervous system resilience so you can live up to your fullest potential with ease and confidence.
I'll be guiding you through meditation.
Breath work.
Visualization and deep rest so that you can explore the pause between where you've been and where you're going.
Welcome to liminal space.
Today's yoga nidra is a practice for letting go.
What we might call the Agnya in yoga.
Releasing what no longer serves you.
Surrendering to ease instead of force.
Not holding on to managing or carrying emotions a letting go of physical tension.
Whatever it is,
We will soften.
Umbadan.
Receive.
And be in the liminal space.
Of what you're holding on to.
The other side once you fully let go.
So find yourself in a comfortable position where the body feels safe enough to melt into the surface beneath it.
And as you start to sink a little deeper as each moment passes,
Draw your attention to the crown of your head.
Slowly move your awareness to the back of your head.
Your eyelids as they grow heavier.
Your neck,
Relax.
Shoulders.
Um.
.
.
Elbows.
Down to the wrist.
The palms of the hands.
The fingers and the thumbs.
The spine.
The heart space.
Ribcage thighs.
Leaves.
Moving down the leg and reaching your ankles.
The tops of your feet.
Your right big toe.
Right to second toe.
Your right middle toe.
Right,
Fourth toe.
Right baby toe the sole of your right foot.
Your left big toe.
Left second toe left middle toe left fourth toe Left baby toe.
The sole of your left foot.
Your awareness lands on both souls together.
As you inhale you're drawing up the energy of the earth into the soles of your feet.
All the way to the crown of the head.
And as you exhale,
You're taking all of that weight from whatever you're carrying that you don't need to,
And you're slowly releasing it through the soles of your feet.
Each breath is an energy exchange.
Drawing life of the earth into the souls to the crown of the head and letting go from the crown out through the souls.
What is no longer serving you.
Each inhale is expansion.
And each exhale a soft loosening.
Inhale the energy moves into the soles of your feet.
Exhale,
The breath moves down and out through the feet.
Just keep following the rhythm of your breath as it finds its way in and out through the soles of your feet.
And gradually allow your mind's eye to visualize your feet on the earth.
Connected in a way you haven't felt before.
Visualizing roots growing from the soles of your feet and anchoring deep and wide.
And this plugging into the earth offers a sense of steadiness and support.
The qualities of a tree rooting down.
And just rest in that feeling.
Start to feel the density this rooting brings.
You're receiving from the earth as it offers a foundation and its nutrients to expand.
Slight weight anchoring you into the air.
Then you allow your awareness to shift into a state of levity almost like you're the branches of the tree.
Floating and swaying with the wind.
A feeling of lightness and liberation.
And letting go.
Between the two.
Can you root yourself deep into the earth?
Feel the fertile soil that you're anchored into.
A place for you to safely grow.
And then switch to letting go of the weight.
Grounding and allow your energy to be limitless,
To be boundless.
Let yourself drift between those states.
And then ask yourself,
Can I hold both of these feelings at once?
A steadiness and a heaviness of rooting.
Foundation of stability.
Yet there's a radiance within you as you give yourself permission to let go and feel free,
Feel alive.
And then slowly your awareness travels to the soles of your feet again as you take in the life and the energy of the earth.
And with your exhale you release the excess and what's no longer serving you back to the earth.
Just stay with those breaths as you draw in through the soles of your feet.
To the ground of your head.
And softly loosen from the crown to your soles as you exhale.
Notice your senses start to awaken and you feel the texture of the surface beneath your body.
Temperature of the air touching your skin.
The external noises both near and far.
Notice how you feel physically,
Mentally,
Emotionally and energetically more spacious.
As if that weight you'd been holding onto has loosened.
Then allow movement to naturally start running through your body again.
Maybe your fingers and toes start to twinkle.
Your head slowly rolls from side to side.
And if it feels good right now to take a full body stretch,
Let it happen.
Just take this moment to notice what you've let go of.
This concept of Vajragya in yoga.
What's shifted that you're not attached to anymore?
Then observe what remains in the body.
Hopefully you're feeling more alive and lighter.
And if this practice resonated with you,
Please share it with someone who needs it.
Rest well,
And I'll see you next week.
