Hello,
Welcome back.
I'm Sarah,
A somatic facilitator and coach,
Here to help you build nervous system resilience so you can live up to your fullest potential with ease and confidence.
I'll be guiding you through meditation.
Breath works.
Visualization and deep rest so that you can explore the pause between where you've been and where you're going.
Welcome to liminal space.
Today's meditation is inspired by the yogic concept of Shunya.
Often translated as void or emptiness.
But not emptiness as absence,
Not a nothingness.
But more like spaciousness.
The quiet open space underneath the noise of the mind.
The space where nothing needs to be added,
Nothing needs to be solved or fixed.
And nothing needs to be carried or contained.
So finding a comfortable position.
And allow the body to settle naturally.
Take a slow breath in through the nose.
And a gentle sigh out the mouth.
Notice the body begin to breathe itself again,
No force or effort required,
You're not performing Just allowing the breath to move.
Allowing it to find expansion in the space.
Almost creating the spaciousness itself.
Now bring awareness to the space around the body.
The air touching your skin.
The space in front of you.
Behind you.
Beside you.
Above you and below you.
Notice that you are not separate from space.
You exist within it.
Held by it,
Surrounded by it.
Now gently bring awareness inward.
Notice the space inside of the body space inside the chest.
The lungs expanding and softening.
A space inside the mouth.
The throat.
Belly.
And the subtle space between one breath and the next.
Again,
There's nothing to force here.
Nothing to find.
Just noticing the openness thoughts may still be moving.
Let them.
You do not need to stop the mind.
Instead,
Notice the space around the thoughts.
Avoid the emptiness.
The spaciousness.
Like clouds moving through a sky.
The sky does not struggle against the clouds,
It simply allows the clouds to move.
Thoughts can come and thoughts can go.
And beneath them space remains.
Stillness remains.
Awareness remain.
And for a few moments here.
See if you can rest into this void,
Into shunya,
Into the space.
Not trying to meditate perfectly or searching for silence Just allow yourself to soften into the spaciousness.
Nothing missing,
Nothing extra needed.
Just this open awareness.
Like your energy is boundless.
Breathing.
Existing.
Take a slow inhale.
And sigh out the mouth.
Notice the body.
The space inside of the body.
Notice the room around you.
The space surrounding the body.
And know that you exist in the space.
The space in you exists within the space And carry this concept of Shunya with you today,
Knowing that even in the busy moments,
Spaciousness is still available underneath it all.
If you enjoyed this,
Please share with somebody that might need a little more spaciousness in their life.
Rest well and I'll see you next time.
