Hello,
Welcome back.
I'm Sarah,
A somatic facilitator and coach,
Here to help you build nervous system resilience so you can live up to your fullest potential with ease and confidence.
I'll be guiding you through meditation.
Breath works.
Visualization and deep rest so that you can explore the pause between where you've been and where you're going.
Welcome to liminal space.
I recently heard somebody say,
Be exactly where your feet are.
And today's meditation is inspired exactly by this.
I'll be guiding you through a walking meditation.
So you might already be walking.
And you might just adjust your pace to something that feels comfortable.
Unforced,
Not rushed.
There is nowhere to get to right now.
No destination.
No goal.
No expectations.
Just you,
Your feet,
And the next step.
Take a few moments here to really settle into a pace that feels comfortable.
Notice how easily your mind wanders.
And then invite it to return home to this present moment.
Not through force or concentration,
Just through noticing and kindness.
And we'll begin by bringing awareness to your feet.
Feeling one foot's making contact with the earth.
And then the other.
Heel,
Sole,
Toes.
Finding that simple rhythm of walking.
Not effort.
Just step after step.
One foot in front of the other.
As you continue walking you might start to feel a little lighter,
A sense of being carried forward.
A sense of levity.
Thousands of tiny micro movements propelling you forward without needing to think about any of them.
The body knows how to walk.
The lungs know how to breathe.
And the heart knows how to be.
For the next few moments find gratitude in that.
Allow yourself to trust in that innate action.
And then continue feeling each foot striking the earth,
Maybe playing with your speed.
Observe how presence isn't something we achieve,
But something we choose.
We keep returning to.
So every time your mind wanders.
Come back to where your feet are.
Feel that homecoming each time.
Notice what else is here as you stay connected to the ground beneath you,
The temperature of the air touching your skin.
Your clothing moving with your body.
A subtle swinging of your arms.
A gentle rotation through the spine with each step.
Perhaps there's a sensation of warmth or breeze meeting your face.
There is so much that goes unnoticed in each moment.
Not because it isn't important,
But because we are often pulled out of the present.
But right now there is nowhere else you need to be and nothing else you need to do apart from be with your next step.
Just receiving the warmth.
Take a moment to consider how life often asks us to be somewhere other than where we are.
Thinking about next week whilst we're in today.
Thinking about later while we're in the now.
Thinking about where we're going whilst arriving to somewhere we once wanted to be.
Yet,
Your feet know something entirely different.
They can only ever be where they are.
In the next step.
In the next moment.
Meeting you and the earth exactly as they are.
Can you let the next step be enough?
Being with each step in turn.
Then being where your feet are right now,
This is where life is happening.
Be present.
Come back to exactly where your feet are in any given moment.
For the final few steps together really be in them.
Feel them.
If you are continuing your walk.
How present can you be in it?
And if you're pausing your steps,
You can still be where your feet are.
So take the next few breaths to notice your surroundings,
Feel the space around you.
You are here.
You are present.
You are exactly where your feet are.
If this practice helped you feel more grounded,
Please share with someone you feel would benefit.
Rest well and I'll see you next week.
