Hello,
Welcome back.
I'm Sarah,
A somatic facilitator and coach,
Here to help you build nervous system resilience so you can live up to your fullest potential with ease and confidence.
I'll be guiding you through meditation.
Breath work.
Visualization and deep rest so that you can explore the pause between where you've been and where you're going.
Welcome to liminal space.
Today's meditation is for when you need grounding.
A reminder that you are here and to be exactly where your feet are.
We will be moving through a sa-ta-na-ma mantra meditation.
Which represents the cycle of life.
Transformation and return.
This meditation comes from the spiritual tradition of Sikhism.
And is used widely in Kundalini Yoga practice.
Utilizing mantra repetition.
Mudra which are finger gestures.
And vocal vibration.
Sa-Ta-Na-Ma represents the cycles of birth,
Life,
Death,
And rebirth.
Sa represents birth.
The beginning,
The expansion,
The growth.
Ta is life,
The experience,
Creation,
Embodiment,
The unfolding.
Nah.
Is death.
Release the letting go.
The transformation.
Ma represents Reba.
A renewal.
Regeneration.
The return.
So invite this meditation to be a reminder that everything moves in cycles.
Breaths,
Seasons,
Relationships,
Nature.
Even versions of ourselves.
Becoming familiar with impermanence,
Knowing that nothing is fixed.
And perhaps that's where the growth is.
So taking any adjustments to make yourself the most comfortable you can be.
Whether seated or lay down.
And just allow your muscles to start softening.
Not three fourths.
But a gentle easing.
Let relaxation take over your body as gravity draws you a little closer to the earth.
As you feel this sensation.
The eyes might start to close if they haven't already.
And then starting to connect to your breath.
Exactly as it is without needing to change it.
Just be with it as the air fills and empties the lungs.
Picking up on the rhythm as it moves through the body.
Nothing falls.
Nothing to achieve.
Just a simple witnessing.
Bringing the mantra into your mind's eye.
Sa,
Ta,
Na,
Ma.
You might start repeating this to yourself silently.
And as you do,
Start to associate each part of the mantra with a different fingertip.
Sir.
Relates to your index finger.
TA associated with the middle finger.
Na,
Ring finger.
And ma.
Linked to your little finger.
And as you continue the repetition of the mantra,
Gently touching the thumb to the fingertip the sound is associated with.
Sa Ta Na Ma Sa Ta Na Ma Sa Ta Na Ma Sa Ta Na Ma Allow the movement to become rhythmic,
Meditative,
Gentle.
SA TA NA MA SA TA NA MA SA TA NA MA SA TA NA MA SA TA NA MA Continue at your own pace.
Feel the subtle vibrations of energy moving through the body.
As you repeat the mantra to yourself.
Your nervous system receiving rhythm,
Repetition.
Safety.
And know that if the mind starts to wander,
That's all part of the practice.
Simply return to the mantra to the fingertips.
To the rhythm.
Moving through the cycle of the mantra.
Find presence through the steadiness.
SAT-TA-NA-MA if you feel comfortable saying the mantra aloud in your surroundings.
You might start to repeat the sounds with a whisper.
Sa ta na ma Perhaps you begin to say the mantra gradually louder as you continue.
Feel the physical vibrations of sound moving through the body.
And notice what's shifting.
SA TA NA MA allow its meaning to keep rooting into the body as you repeat the mantra.
Birth,
Life,
Death,
Rebirth,
Sa,
Ta,
Na,
Ma.
Feel expansion unfolding.
Releasing and returning with each cycle of the mantra.
Then if you started repeating the mantra out loud.
Gradually start to soften the mantra to a whisper again.
Almost like a secret.
Like a breath.
And then eventually it will find its way to silently being repeated in the mind.
SA TA NA MA SA TA NA MA And then softly,
The final time.
Repeat the mantra in your mind.
Sa ta na ma Take a slow inhale through the nose.
And sigh out of the mouth.
Releasing any control of the hands and your breath Just notice how you feel.
Notice what shifted.
And what's being created within.
Beneath the surface.
Maybe you're feeling a little softer.
Steadier.
More focus.
Or more connected.
Sense of grounding.
You are here.
And as we close this practice,
Allow the meaning of this mantra to remain.
You naturally move through cycles.
You are allowed to change.
You are allowed to create.
And you are allowed to begin again.
Everything is moving this way and everything is impermanent.
If you found this useful,
Please share with someone who might need to feel more grounded today.
Rest well,
And I'll see you next week.
