This guided meditation practise combines visualisation, subtle ambient music and coastline bird song that I recorded on the North Wales coast. The soothing music and unique bird sounds extend beyond the vocals, helping guide you into a deeper state of relaxation. I hope you it relaxing for both the mind and body.

Take a moment to come into a comfortable laying down position,

Ideally with a soft and warm cover to protect you.

Bring your awareness to the breath,

Noticing the flow of the air through the body as you inhale,

And the gentle rise of the abdomen as it creates space for the breath.

As you slowly exhale,

Allow any tension or discomfort to be released,

And notice the weight of the body as it becomes heavier,

Drawing you deeper into the surface beneath you.

Continue for a further two breaths,

And see if each time you're able to soften,

Let go,

Just that little bit deeper each time.

Now imagine yourself on an open and expansive stretch of beach.

The sand is soft,

Golden and warm beneath your feet,

Makes you feel comforted and relaxed.

Your limbs soften as the gentle warmth of the sun seeps into your upper body.

Your shoulders soften towards the sandy surface beneath you,

Your hands are relaxed and your heart feels open and light.

You take a deep breath into your heart space,

In awe of the peace and calmness that surrounds you in this moment.

Your senses begin to awaken to the subtle aroma of the sea air,

And the touch of the warm breeze upon your face soothes you into an even deeper connection with the present.

You look out towards the sea and notice the faint,

Contrasting stripes of texture and colour that define the sea,

The shoreline,

The horizon and the flat expanse of sand that extends before you.

Other than the white crests of waves moving in the very far distance,

Your vision is filled with total stillness all around you,

Above and below.

You become aware of the sea birds gathered in the sandy dunes behind you,

And the relaxing tone of their voices beckons you to draw closer.

You close your eyes,

Absorbing their sweet sound,

And as if entranced,

You turn around and begin to walk towards them.

With only their song to guide you,

You carefully step along the sandy beach towards the comfort of the low-cushion dunes close by.

A seagull's faint cry overhead signals your arrival,

A moment to pause and rest.

You are at home with them now,

And now is the time for you to replenish and restore.

Your body softens and your knees bend,

Drawing you closer to the warmth of the sand dunes beneath.

Your muscles relax and your body becomes heavy and limp,

Allowing you to surrender and let go.

Mother Earth welcomes you into her warm embrace,

Cradling and nurturing you into an even deeper state of relaxation.

Safe and warm,

You surrender and let go.

Soothed by the birdsong,

You are lulled into a deep and restful sleep.

Soothed by the birdsong,

You are lulled into a deep and restful sleep.
