You might call the mind someone or some animal,
Could be a person or pet that represents unconditional love and wisdom to you.
It could be someone living or someone who's already passed,
Could be someone in your life,
Could be a spiritual figure or a teacher,
An author,
Perhaps someone that you've only known indirectly,
But just someone who represents a real kind of deep and pure love,
Unconditional love that's really solid and rooted in wisdom.
And once they've come to mind,
You might imagine them sitting with you,
Perhaps across from you.
And you might imagine them seeing you.
And as you see them seeing you,
Imagine that they see all that is good in you.
Every single ounce of goodness that you are,
They see that right here.
Good.
Stay with that.
And now imagine that they see everything that you hate about yourself or dislike,
All the mistakes that you've made,
All the imperfections that are very alive in you.
They see all of your weaknesses,
All of your flaws.
So they really see all of you.
And from that place of complete seeing you,
You might imagine that they look at you kindly,
Gently in a very simple way and that their eyes just reflect,
I love you.
I love all of you.
I see your goodness.
I believe in you.
So you might just notice how it is to receive these eyes,
These knowing kind eyes.
Notice what it's like to have this person or pet say with their eyes,
With their whole being.
I love you.
And you're good.
Just allowing that message to radiate from their whole being such that you are the only thing in their world right now.
You're the only thing that matters in this moment.
And they don't need anything from you.
Their love is given freely.
It's all for you.
And so with accepting kind of attitude here,
You might notice how open your heart is in response.
You might notice to what degree you're really able to receive this sweet gift and letting whatever you find be okay.
Truly your heart may be numb.
You may not be able to let it in at all.
You might not know how you feel.
You might really notice some resistance.
You might notice there's some sweetness,
But another part of you holds back.
You might be experiencing a lot of emotion at being loved like this.
Your heart may say yes,
A wholehearted yes.
It doesn't matter.
Whatever you find is just fine.
Just noticing how it is to be loved in this way.
What's it like right here?
And now you will shift your attention to let your eyes kind of rest back towards them and notice what it's like to say to them,
Thank you for loving me.
Thank you.
You might imagine saying it with your eyes,
Perhaps your hands.
And noticing the quality of your gratitude.
Is it kind of soft or a little bit more rough or loud?
Is it kind of assertive or kind of quiet?
Do you reach out to them?
Do you let your hands rest in a different way?
Do you bring your hands palm to palm?
What's it like to say thank you for loving me?
Thank you for this gift.
Hold so you can let that go and just come right back to your breath.
Just taking a few more moments here.
Even if it feels accessible to you,
You may offer thanks to yourself for your practice today.
You might just notice what a gift it is to take the time to sit like this.
I want to also say thank you for allowing me to be with you in this moment.
Thank you for the gift of your presence.
Until next time.
