Welcome to Day 2 of the Mid-Year Reset here on Insight Timer.
Your daily moment to pause,
Reflect and return to yourself.
Consistency is where real change begins.
Enjoy today's session.
Hello and welcome.
My name is Sarah Blondin and today we are going to do a short somatic movement practice.
Despite its simplicity,
This practice is very effective at helping you surrender and welcome gentleness.
What if we could learn to be held by something greater than ourselves?
Is it possible to sit still,
Unburden and find gentleness wherever we are?
We cannot outrun ourselves,
But we can sink in.
We can slip into the churning of our bodies like seals into the ocean to find ourselves irrevocably linked inside a mysterious swell that can actually be enjoyed.
There is something gentle in every loud room.
There is ground beneath the sea.
Even in the midst of the madness,
You can learn to remain still and to listen for the quiet that permeates us.
Today's practice is,
As I said,
About becoming gentle.
So let's begin by closing our eyes and letting the turbulence of our lives settle.
And it's okay if your body can't find inner quiet or stillness at first.
Just become aware of the space around you.
What is the stillness like above your head?
Is there a gentle warmth in front of you?
Is there spaciousness behind you?
What quiet frequency can you hear around your body at this moment?
And welcome peace.
If you could take your hands now and place them over your heart,
And bow your head to meet the heart.
It's as if you're handing over your busy mind to your heart center,
Love's home.
Here in this bow,
Receive your heart,
Surrendering in this posture.
Take a breath and expand,
Welcoming peace.
Now open your palms to the sky as if you're holding bowls of light and air,
A softness,
A cloud.
And lift your chin to the sky while keeping your eyes closed still.
A meeting with the mystery,
The cosmos,
And the light.
Holding this posture of surrender,
Inhale the eternal breath of life with your face lifted,
This life's wide,
Expansive sky mind,
Taking a deep breath and expanding,
Welcoming peace.
Now you can just settle into any position that feels comfortable to you,
And just relax and enjoy this gentle moment,
This gentle pause.
I am so glad you could join me today.
Feel free to return to this practice whenever you need to,
I use it daily.
It just helps me not focus so much on the worries of my mind and just soften into my heart and into the expansiveness above my head,
Into the mystery.
Also,
Just keep your eyes open throughout your day for what is gentle,
What is quiet and still inside every room and every moment.
There is something gentle in every loud room.
Also,
Feel free to share your experience in the challenge forum.
Again,
Thank you for being here.
Be well.
