
New Moon In Virgo & Autumn Equinox Practice: Draw Down The Moon

Join Sara for this meditation and journaling practice, before drawing on the energy of Virgo and using Libra to find balance as you set your intentions for the coming cycle. Please do have a pen and journal to hand.

Welcome dear friends.
This is Sarah and I'm so pleased to be back with you again.
This guided practice is for the new moon in Virgo and the autumn equinox which fall within just a few days of each other in September.
As always this practice is interactive so it would be good to have a journal and a pen to hand and find yourself a quiet and comfortable space just to sit for the next while and let's contemplate all of the energies that the Virgo new moon and the shifting season bring us.
We will reflect on these together and then we'll have some space to set some intentions for the coming cycle.
If you need to pause now to get comfortable and find your journal please do and when they're ready just come in and take a seat.
The Virgo new moon in 2020 is a super moon and a super moon just means that it's very close to us and the energy might be amplified.
The Virgo new moon also comes just before the turning of the season.
We're moving now into autumn and as always at this time of year we are grateful for the harvest for all of the abundance that we have even in this extraordinary year and we're also starting to turn inward and to focus more on ourselves,
Our values,
Our hopes,
Our wishes and our dreams.
This is a wonderful time to set some intentions for the coming cycle and they will only be amplified by the energy of the super moon and the equinox.
Virgo likes a plan.
Virgo is organized,
Practical,
Analytical.
But it's also mutable energy which means it's flexible.
Think of Virgo like a plant.
Think of the intentions that you set at this moment like a seed that will grow and flex and adapt and change in whatever environment they find themselves in.
That's the energy of Virgo.
It's earth so it's grounded but it's flexible and adaptable and we must be too.
Virgo is also a warrior.
Virgo is an over thinker.
Virgo energy can sometimes spark our inner critic and all of those feelings that we have when we tell ourselves that we are not good enough.
That we cannot do the things that we wish to do,
That we do not deserve,
The things that we wish for.
All of those things are Virgo too.
Virgo rules the digestive system.
It rules the gut.
So if you're someone who gets butterflies or your digestive system is upset when you're anxious or nervous,
Virgo energy.
So while we can experience all of that beautiful,
Mutable,
Flexible Virgo energy we can also really feel the inner critic and we can really feel it in the body too and particularly because this is a super moon we might really feel it.
And what's wonderful is that we can use the energy of the Sun moving into Libra on the day of the equinox to balance all of that out.
Libra is the scales and equinox just means equal night.
It is a time of year when day and night are equal and we can draw in that energy too and use it to help balance out any anxiety,
Worry and negative self-talk that we experience in the body and in the mind with Virgo.
I'd like to start by sharing with you a meditation that was taught to me a few years ago.
It's called the Unity Breath and it's wonderful for when you need to feel a little bit more grounded,
Feel a little more balanced and remind yourself of the connection to something so much bigger than us.
So before we journal and before we set our intentions I'd like to share this meditation with you so that you can come back to it whenever you feel that you need it in the coming months.
See if you can be a little more comfortable than you already are.
Let's take a deep breath together and let's just relax in for a second.
As you breathe,
See if you can feel your connection to the ground.
See if you can feel where your body touches the ground at the moment.
Are your feet on the floor?
Are you lying down?
Can you feel your back or the back of your head on the floor?
Are you sitting on the floor?
Wherever you are,
See if you can tap into that connection to the earth.
And then see if you can think about a beautiful place in nature.
It might be a place that you know that you've been.
It might be a picture that you build in your mind.
Is it a waterfall?
Is it a mountain?
Is it a beautiful field?
A white beach?
See if you can take yourself to that beautiful scene in nature and see if you can feel how much love you have for the earth.
Maybe you can feel the sand between your toes.
Maybe you can dip your fingers in the water of a lake or you can feel the wind on the top of a mountain.
But feel all the love that you have for the earth and see if you can draw all that love deep inside,
Right into your stomach.
And see if you can visualize that love as a small ball of energy.
Draw in all the beauty of the wonderful scene in nature and condense it into that small ball inside of you.
And then when you're ready,
Feel again your connection to the ground and see if you can push that small ball of energy,
That ball of love for the earth downward and send it all the way down to the earth.
And then we wait.
And we wait for earth to send her love back to us.
And she always will.
And you might feel that straight away coming right back up the channel that you sent your love down.
Or you might feel it later,
But she will always reply.
And then we take our awareness to the sky,
To the universe,
To the stars,
To the sun.
And we visualize a beautiful scene there.
You might see clouds and blue sky and sun.
You might see stars and meteors and nebula.
You might be drifting on a cloud.
Or racing through the constellations.
But whatever you see,
Feel the love that you have for the universe up above.
Feel it surround you.
And whether you are reaching for the stars or the moon or the sun,
Take all of that love you have for the universe.
And bring it inside into that small ball.
And this time send it up.
Send it up from your stomach,
All the way up your spine,
All the way out the top of your head and send your love all the way up to the sky.
And then we wait.
And the universe will always send love back to you.
And you might feel that pour down now.
Or you might feel it later.
But he will always reply.
Keep your connection now to the earth and to the sky and feel them both at the same time.
And know that this is the first time you are feeling this love.
At the same time.
And know that this is you connected to source energy.
The energy that moves through us all that is so much greater than we are.
And allow the love of the earth and the sky to wash over you.
And this love is always with you.
And you can tune into it whenever you feel you need to be more grounded.
And when you are ready,
Slowly start to bring some movement back and bring your awareness back.
And when you are ready to open your eyes,
Grab your journal.
And write down all the ways that you can silence that inner critic.
Write down the ways that you can make yourself grounded.
Write down the positive statements that you will say to yourself when your inner critic rears their head.
Write down how you will bring balance.

How will you bring that healing energy to yourself and to your inner critic in the coming weeks?
Let's think now about our intentions.
Virgo likes to plan.
Let's be organized and set our intentions now for the coming cycle.
Intentions are your guiding principles that you live by.
They are your value statements.
And then we set small goals every single day and take inspired action that will help us to align with our intention.
Use positive language for your intention statements.
And if you like,
Use the most powerful language of all,
I am.
Who are you for the next cycle?
Take some time now and let's draw down the energy of this Virgo new moon.
And bring all of its qualities,
Planning,
Organization,
Grounded,
Flexible,
Adaptable energy into our intentions.
And let's also write in the tools that we have to keep ourselves grounded and balanced.

Be specific.
And draw down that Virgo energy.
Be creative.
Make it work for you.
