A meditation for the new moon in Scorpio.
Welcome dear friends this is Sarah and I am so happy to have you with me.
This practice is designed to be used for the new moon in Scorpio but also at any time when you wish to tap into the powerful transformation energy of Scorpio to make changes in your life.
We will begin with a guided relaxation and then we will have some questions to contemplate and then time to visualize and set some intentions for the coming cycle.
So before we begin find yourself a comfortable position.
This can be a comfortable seat position with your spine nice and long or you can lie down maybe cover yourself with a blanket and be as comfortable as possible.
If you haven't already close your eyes and as you begin just to bring some awareness to the breath see if you can let go of everything in your day.
You can let go of thoughts as they run through your mind.
If you can scan all the way through the body and notice any areas where there's tightness or tension squeeze those areas send your breath to them and release.
As you bring your awareness to your breath start to really see if you can breathe all the way down into your belly.
Pause at the top of your inhale and exhale the day away.
Let everything go that doesn't need to come into this beautiful space with us.
Focus now on your toes squeeze them release them and start to feel that relaxation energy rising all the way up to the ankles,
Calves,
Knees,
Thighs,
Buttocks rising up into the hips.
Feel it in your belly let go if you're tensing those muscles.
Let the relaxation move up through your chest.
Feel it spread out across your shoulders maybe squeeze those shoulders up towards your ears and then let them go.
As you let them go feel the relaxation travel all the way down your arms,
Elbows,
Forearms right down through the wrists to the tips of your fingers.
You might want to make fists squeeze and release.
Come back up through the arms make sure those shoulders are down and feel that beautiful wave of relaxation coming up through your neck and spreading right over the top of your head and let it wash down over your forehead,
Eyebrows,
All the muscles around your eyes,
Nose,
Lips and chin.
Let your body fall into whatever position you have chosen and let yourself be supported.
The new moon is a naturally reflective and introspective time and the hours leading up to it we're often guided to be resting,
To be sleeping and to be really tuning in to what it is that we know deep within us that we want and we can use this time to create intentions for the coming cycle.
A new moon is a new beginning and as humans we are naturally in tune with its cycles just as we are the cycles of day and night,
Of the seasons,
Even the cycles of our breath.
The energy of Scorpio is transformational energy.
It allows us to take a deep dive right down to the depths of our soul and to pluck out from there the things that we need to change and the things that we would like to grow.
In this meditation we will take that deep dive together and we will discover what's beneath the surface that no longer serves us and what's beneath the surface that we need to cultivate and bring forth into the world.
Continue just to relax,
To breathe and to listen.
If you fall asleep that's absolutely okay too.
You'll still hear everything that I say.
Begin now to see yourself in a room.
Look around you to see what's there.
Is it empty?
Is there furniture?
The room is dark but in the corner on the floor you can see a trapdoor.
Wherever you are in the room take steps now across the floor.
Walk yourself to that trapdoor and find the handle.
What does it look like?
Is it old and rusty?
Is it covered in dust?
Is it new?
Take a deep breath and as you exhale reach out and open the door.
Light comes through the trapdoor and in front of you you see a set of steps.
They're going downwards and the light is at the bottom.
With your next breath on your exhale see your foot on the top step.
See your shoes.
Here are the steps.
Is there a creek?
Are they wooden?
Are they concrete?
Count down each step now with a breath from 10 to 1.
Deep breath in.

Going deeper and further down.
6,
5,
4,
3,
2,
1.
As we reach the bottom we see that we are in a beautiful space.
A space where we are free to think about everything that no longer serves us.
To relax.
Maybe there's a notebook and pen.
A space for contemplation.
Take some time now to reflect on all the areas of life that no longer serve.
Think about patterns,
Behaviours,
Negative self-talk,
Relationships and situations.
What is holding you back from being the best version of yourself?
Bring these to mind now and don't be afraid of what comes up.
Continue to breathe and just feel any emotions that come with this.
Perhaps you feel anxious,
Perhaps there are butterflies,
Perhaps there is tension.
Come back to the breath and release any tension through it.
Notice now that there's a box in the room.
Notice what it looks like.
Notice how big it is.
Feel curious and open the box.
And as you do you realise that this is the place where we will leave everything that no longer serves.
This is the space where we will transform and we will leave this room and leave all of those things behind.
Reach out for the box,
Open it and place everything that you wish to release inside.
Close the box and just observe how you feel.
Do you feel release?
Do you feel emotional?
Do you feel relief?
Do you feel joy?
Do you feel lighter?
Do you feel at the beginning of something new?
Turn now to leave the room.
See the stairs in front of you and see light shining from the top of them.
As you begin to walk up the stairs start to feel lighter,
Start to feel a tingling in your toes,
In your fingertips,
All the way up your legs.
And as you climb the stairs contemplate now the new things that will begin with this new cycle of the moon.
What areas in your life will you transform?
What does the most authentic,
Best and beautiful version of you look like?
And as you walk upwards feel yourself filled with new energy,
With new ideas,
With that vision of the version of you.
What do they look like?
What are they wearing?
Where do they work?
Who are the people in their life?
What hobbies do they have?
As you climb you realize the stairs are a lot longer this time and there is much further to climb.
But every step gets lighter,
Every step gets more joyful.
You feel warm air rush towards you and you climb faster.
And the faster you climb the more images,
Ideas and pictures of this version of you come to you.
And as you finally reach the last few steps you burst out into a beautiful,
Sunlit autumn afternoon.
You see the beautiful colors in the trees and you feel that crisp autumn air and you are filled with the sense of new possibilities,
New beginnings and joy.
Raise up your arms,
Turn in a circle,
Dance,
Laugh and then take time to sit down in this beautiful autumn afternoon in this glorious outdoor space.
And think now of three intentions that you can take forward.
Three steps to move towards that version of your highest self.
Make these into positive statements.
I am,
I will.
Three steps.
Realise now that it's time to come back.
That our journey downward and inward is over and that we have stepped back out into the light.
Feel some movement in your toes.
Maybe roll your ankles,
Your fingertips.
Maybe take a big stretch overhead.
Start to think about sounds in the room and bring your awareness back from that beautiful autumn afternoon to the room.
Open your eyes when you're ready.
Spend some time thinking about the wonderful intentions that you've set.
Maybe write them down.
And know that from here you can take action.
